It’s hard to believe, but the holiday season at Disney World will soon be over, and we’ll be ringing in 2024.
Now, we already know that a LOT of changes will be happening in Disney World in 2024: Park Pass reservations are going away for most visitors, park hopping is returning to normal, and the Disney Dining Plan will be back. However, do you know about two new laws that will be going into effect in Florida in 2024, too?
Well, don’t worry; we’re here to fill you in. Thanks to ClickOrlando, we have a full list of new laws that will be going into effect as of January 1st, 2024. Granted, many of these new laws might not affect you if you’re just visiting Disney World in 2024, but you should probably be made aware of them, just in case.
First, there has been a revision to the law concerning campsite rules in Florida’s state parks. Florida residents can now make reservations for campsites and cabins up to 11 months in advance, but they must provide the number from their Florida ID card or driver’s license. Those who do NOT live in Florida can make reservations up to 10 months in advance.
Florida’s “Move Over Law” has expanded and may affect those driving in Florida. The law already requires drivers to move over a lane (if it is safe to do so) for law enforcement, emergency workers, sanitation crews, etc. The law will expand to include vehicles that have stopped on the road, including vehicles with hazard lights on, vehicles using emergency flares or signs, and any vehicle stopped with at least one person visibly with it.Â
If you live in Florida or are visiting for a vacation, now you know what new laws will go into effect soon. Looking for more travel and planning news? We’ve got you covered!

If you can’t move over safely, you’re required to slow down to 20 mph under the speed limit. If the speed limit is 20mph or less, slow down to 5 mph.
