We’re closing out 2023 in the best way we know how…by spending it at Disney World!
If you’re celebrating the new year at The Most Magical Place on Earth, you’ll find special treats, some new merchandise collections, and of course, CROWDS. Lots of people want to ring in 2024 at the parks, and we’re here to show you just how busy things are!
Before we even made it to Magic Kingdom, we spotted the first hint of the crowds when we were arriving at the Transportation and Ticket Center — but, honestly, this really wasn’t too bad! We’ve definitely seen more crowds over this past week and even yesterday. Perhaps folks are sleeping in this morning to save their energy for staying up late tonight!
As we walked up to the Magic Kingdom entrance, we noticed much of the same. There weren’t too many crowds gathered just yet — at least not compared to what we’ve been seeing lately!
We made our way further into the park, and started to see a bit more of the crowds we were expecting.
There were certainly people milling about, but we weren’t shoulder to shoulder with other folks like we typically see on holidays like today. We’re thinking people will likely start to trickle in as the day continues, but even at mid-day, we weren’t seeing the crowds we’re used to seeing.
As far as wait times go, right around noon, the highest wait was for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 145 minutes and we confirmed all parks were still accepting guests — meaning they haven’t reached capacity. You can call (407) 560-5000 for up-to-the-minute park hopping availability if you’re trying to park hop in Disney World today — just to make sure the park you’re hopping to hasn’t reached capacity yet.
Over in EPCOT, there weren’t many people over at the International Gateway trying to enter, but again — that could change later tonight!
AH! There they are! It looks like everyone is trying to squeeze one last ride on Living with the Land with the holiday overlay.
The line for Soarin’ stretched all the way back into the lobby area and was a whopping 110 minutes!
We’ll also be bringing you full coverage of EPCOT’s New Year’s Eve fireworks show, so keep checking back as we bring you more ways to ring in 2024!
Stay tuned to DFB for more updates from the parks and all the Disney excitement in 2024!

I’m curious what the evening/night crowds looked like. We were at Epcot New Years Eve 2018/2019. The World Showcase was basically shoulder to shoulder people. We had our 9-year-old and our 12 year old with us and the four of us grabbed each other’s hands and didn’t dare to let go as we wove through the mob. That was crowded.
