We’ve seen some VERY high prices for Genie+ in Disney World.
Genie+ is the virtual assistant on the Disney World app. Once you have purchased it for the day, you can make Lightning Lane selections to be able to pass the long lines. It can be an incredibly useful tool on busy days in the parks or if you just simply don’t like standing in lines. Over the holidays, Genie+ reached close to $40 per day for both the Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom options. This was a record-high price that we hadn’t seen before. So we took to Instagram to ask you, our readers, how much is the MOST you are willing to pay for Genie+.
Oftentimes, we see Genie+ prices in the mid to higher $20 range for the Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom options. These two options are generally the highest of the options since they are usually the most popular ones to be bought.
Each other park is usually lower either in the low 20s or upper teens. But even on days when the prices were at their highest, Genie+ sold out for different parks!
It seems there may not be a cut-off for how high the prices can go and people will continue to purchase it. This made us curious just how much people are willing to pay to skip the lines in Disney World. Here’s what you said!
The majority of people have a fairly low cutoff compared to the recent prices. 51% of our readers said they would pay $20 for the line-skipping service! 36% said $30 is still ok. But only 8% of readers said they would spend $40 and even fewer said they would go up to $50 — 5% of readers.
These statistics are interesting to see after the last few days of record-high prices! It seems that most of our readers don’t want to spend tons of money on skipping the lines.
If you want to use Genie+ on your trip, you can purchase it at midnight on the day you plan to use your ticket. Then at 7AM, you can make your first Lightning Lane selection. These are different than the Individual Lightning Lanes which are paid for separately and do not require you to buy Genie+.
It can be a tough call when to purchase Genie+ and when not to. There are a lot of things that go into making the decision such as crowds and the park you’re visiting. That’s why we created the video below, to help make the decision easier!
We hope we are seeing the end of these super high prices for a while. If you’re looking for more Genie+ and Lightning Lane information, check out these posts!

My answer to the question is…ZERO!!! I refuse to pay more for Disney’s mismanagement of the company’s client base!

Seeing this poll, brings back recollections of comments from the Disney elite, wherein they claimed that no matter what amount of money Disney charges its guests, they are happy to pay!
I proposed a fee at least $1000 per park per day plus the cost of genie+ at some exorbitant rate. The resultant answer was the same. They would pay it. And it comes with a caveat or rather bonus. Since other people can’t afford the price or are unwilling to pay, it’s more room for them in the park.
So, Disney knows this about pricing and is counting on its most faithful supporters.
As long as they are willing to back them up, Disney is willing to keep raising prices.
