Watching the shows at Disney World can be an unforgettable experience — for better or worse.
While Disney World has a lot of new things planned for 2024, it is also bringing back new-ish shows and events. One of those returning shows is Luminous The Symphony of Us, which debuted in EPCOT on December 5th, 2023. The show is held in World Showcase Lagoon and, with that, presents an interesting challenge in viewing.
Luminous may be a divisive EPCOT show, but we recommend seeing it for yourself to form an opinion. As for where to see it, we have some thoughts on places in EPCOT to watch the show, and places you should avoid if you want a decent view. After taking into account our own opinions and listening to what YOU have to say, we have come up with a list of BEST and WORST spots to watch Luminous!
The Best Spots
Our readers were very high on watching Luminous from the Mexico Pavilion. One wrote, “We were close to Bridge by Mexico and it was Fantabulous!!”
We also saw some positive buzz about the Norway Pavilion when it comes to Luminous views. One of our readers felt the show has pretty good visibility from all around the lake and that Norway is a very good spot to get a clean look at EPCOT’s latest show.
Easily the most hyped-up spot to watch Luminous from is Rose and Crown in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Readers reported very positive experiences with the Rose & Crown Fireworks Dinner Package and another said they had a good view from just standing near the pub. If you want to get a guaranteed view of the show, this may be the best option to explore.
Our reporters were keen on watching Luminous from the Germany Pavilion. We found that if you get there extra early you may even secure a bench or table.
We also found that the center of World Showcase Plaza between Disney Traders and Port of Entry is a strong choice to watch the show from.
You get a straight-on view while being closer to the barges on that side of the lagoon, and it’s usually a solid spot for any EPCOT nighttime show especially when there isn’t a festival ongoing.
The Worst Spots
Our reporters have had pretty miserable experiences viewing Luminous from the Japan Pavilion. It seems as though no matter where you stand, something will block your view. To make matters worse, if you go closer to the water you’ll be hard-pressed to find standing or sitting room. You could go up the steps of Mitsukoshi, but you’ll see have to peek between the trees.
Readers also took issue with the views from the Morocco Pavilion. Tucked away near the back, we could see how views could be rougher here.
Speaking of being tucked away in the back, the Italy Pavilion provides similar changes to Morocco. Unless you’re by the left side towards the American Adventure Pavilion, you’ll have a hard time seeing the barges.
With that said, being in the American Adventure Pavilion doesn’t guarantee a good view of Luminous either. A reader commented on their rough go of it from that pavilion, sighting the difficulty of seeing through the trees.
Overall, a common theme we saw regarding bad spots to watch Luminous from was anywhere that challenges the vertically challenged.
Whether it be a spot with an excess of trees or just a hotspot of dads over six feet tall with kiddos on their shoulders, location won’t really matter if you find one of these obstacles blocking your view. Your best bet is to always find a spot that works for you, and find it early to stake your claim.

I haven’t been to WDW in years, but always had good luck on the bridges between Future World & Mexico, and France & the UK. If you start early you can lean on the railing so no one is in front of you (I’m short!).

So the best & worst spots are no different to any of the other fireworks displays that have been at Epcot previously!
