The Country Bear Jamboree attraction is CHANGING in Magic Kingdom, and now we know when the show will close to make way for the updates.
Country Bear Jamboree
Disney announced previously that a NEW show is coming to Country Bear Jamboree this year (2024), with the bears learning an all-new act. If you want to catch the current show before it changes, make sure you head there SOON!
Country Bear Jamboree will CLOSE on January 27th, 2024, for the refurbishment. Disney announced that the new show should open THIS SUMMER.

While it’s closed, Disney Imagineers will be updating the Magic Kingdom show with an all-new act. The beloved bears will sing in new styles like pop-country, rockabilly, Americana, and bluegrass. You can see Henry in his new outfit in the photo below!

The new show will include easter eggs throughout that nod to the previous show, and the bears will be singing new, reinterpreted Disney songs in various country music genres.
Country Bear Jamboree
The updated show will be a take on the classic variety shows found in Nashville, Tennessee, and Nashville musicians are involved in the new arrangements. We do know we’ll be seeing a new version of “Bare Necessities“ in a rockabilly style! Check out this behind-the-scenes video of Disney Cast Members recording some of the music:
A Disney Imagineer has said, “The music is going to be amazing, and the show will still have the fun and friendly tone that we all love about the Country Bears.”
Country Bear Jamboree!
Country Bear Jamboree is located in Frontierland. It’s a “country-and-western musical revue” performed by animatronic bears. Disney explains, “When the [new] show debuts, the bears will be reinterpreting favorite Disney songs in different genres of country music. Imagineers are envisioning the new experience as a homage to the classic musical revues in Nashville, and they’re working with Nashville musicians to get the authentic country sound.”

This is one of the last attractions that Walt Disney was personally involved in creating, and it’s been part of Magic Kingdom since 1971. Rest assured, some of your favorite characters will be returning, like Trixie, Big Al, and others.

I wait with great fear and trepidation for the remake of the Country Bear Jamboree.
The remake of the Enchanted TiKi Room was such a disaster, Disney went back to the original (albeit shorter) show.
In Disneyland, the Swiss Family Treehouse was remade into Tarzan’s place and was awful.
I’m gonna keep an open mind, but, whereas so many recent changes have been for the worse, I’m nervous. Yeah, I’m old (77) and not fond of change and I like the older Disney magic more than the more recent Disney woke, but I’ll stay optimistic that the new Bears will not be a disaster.
I hope that when Disney re does the country bear jamboree that they don’t lose sight is what Walt Disney created and also keep swinging teddy beara she is always so cute coming down n her swing we ah w seen it many times over the years and love it
Disney does re make attractions and when they do it’s always horrible look what they did from the original journey into your imagination and the tiki birds and as far as I’m concerned the Snow White attraction and then got rid of universe of energy
