We’re sure you were excited when we told you that Magic Key Passes would soon go on sale again for Disneyland. New passes haven’t been available since September! Well, they are available again — as of today! So join us as we check out what the process of getting a Magic Key pass is like.
So here’s been our experience trying to get access to Magic Key passes today. Originally, the Disneyland website crashed for us ten minutes before sales started. Goofy just let us know that something was amiss. This page came up after we used the link given for Magic Key pass sales on the Disneyland website.

However, another link DID work for us, and we received a message that we were in the queue to purchase a Magic Key. Here’s the link we used.

Note that a lot of pages on the Disney website are currently down, probably because traffic is so high right now. This includes the Help page and the Magic Key buying guide. So be sure to use the link above if you’re having problems. KTLA also tweeted that people are having issues accessing the site.

UPDATE: The virtual queue appears to be moving now! We got an updated notification saying our wait time is “more than an hour.”

We were also AT Disneyland this morning where folks were trying to purchase their Magic Keys in person. The line for that was FOUR HOURS LONG.

Just a little after we took that video, the wait had jumped up to FIVE HOURS.

That’s just insane!!!
This always happens with Disneyland. You’d think by now they would have upgraded their systems to handle the influx of extremely heave website traffic.
I too had problems initially getting into the queue. Once I did though – it only took me 3 hours to get through and I was able to purchase the passes I wanted. I had a bit of a problem with pages loading after I entered names, but otherwise it was smooth!
