Who else hates dealing with crowds in Disney World? 🙋 If you didn’t raise your hand just now, we have some serious questions for you… .
Anyway — there isn’t much you can do about the crowds in Disney World except cope or plan to visit during the least busy times of the year. There is another way, although it does cost some money, but it is one of the only times you’ll see a near-empty park. We’re talking about After Hours events which have just returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
We’re at the Hollywood Studios After Hours event now, but they are also returning to Magic Kingdom on January 11th and EPCOT on February 2nd.
The best part of these events? The LOW crowd levels. Seriously, it’s unbelievable how empty the parks feel during this limited-capacity event. Let’s take a look at the crowds at the event on January 10th, 2024!
There were some lines to get into the parks when we arrived at 7PM.
There are shows at the Chinese Theatre, so many people are waiting in this area of the park for those if you enter at 7PM. Be ready for that or arrive a little later if you don’t want to deal with those crowds. We still recommend going inside the park at 7PM so you can maximize your ticket — especially since some of the wait times were already decreasing at this point!
After that, people started to either leave the parks or head toward Fantasmic! That left other areas of the parks empty like this! Isn’t it kinda creepy how open it is?
We aren’t huge fans of PizzeRizzo either…but seriously — there was almost NOBODY over here!
Galaxy’s Edge had a decent amount of people, but it’s nothing compared to the daytime. There’s a lot to do back here with Oga’s Cantina, the Milk Stand, Savi’s Workshop, and Droid Depot open during After Hours — not to mention Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
We could have done several cartwheels in a row and not hit anybody over in Toy Story Land (please don’t do that, we’re just saying we COULD).
Sunset Boulevard cleared up quite a bit after Fantasmic! finished and regular parkgoers had to leave the park.
Ticket costs range from $155 to $175 depending on the date that you choose. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can get a discount with tickets ranging from $125 to $145. After Hours events in Hollywood Studios take place on certain nights from January 10th to April 10th, 2024.

As DVC members, we attended a Jollywood Nights for DVC Members. There were more cast members, than there were guests. We rode all of our favorite rides, numerous times; ate like Kings, and enjoyed all of the special events. I highly recommend, WDW special events.
