We are at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts! There’s lots to do here, but, of course, our favorite thing to do at the EPCOT festivals is EAT!
The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts has officially begun, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food studios with tasty items, shows and artistic performances to watch, souvenirs to grab (of course), and even an art-inspired food stroll to complete. But don’t let it overwhelm you — we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — Pop Eats! — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the Pop Eats! booth, you’ll find a variety of available items. This booth is located near the Port of Entry, and it’s a very popular Festival location. You can grab some great eats like a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, a fancy grilled cheese with bacon and a fried green tomato with your tomato soup, or a yummy white chocolate and orange mouse with vanilla bean cake dessert!
The booth also has two drink offerings this year! There is the Brooklyn Brewery Pulp Art Hazy IPA or the Blanc de Bleu Cuvée Mousseux with boba pearls. Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese! We have enjoyed it in previous years and have high hopes for it this year! This is a returning item and it’s part of the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine activity. You can get it for $5.75.
This is a popular item of the festival. You can’t go wrong with a classic! The soup comes in an Andy Warhol-inspired can, and you get a delicious little grilled cheese on the side. It may be a little basic, but we’re happy to see this menu item back at the Festival this year. Our only complaint was that our sandwich was a little flat.
We then grabbed the Tomato Soup with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomato grilled cheese! You can pick this up for $6.50. This was a new item in 2023, and we were big fans. Last year, everything went beautifully together. The flavors were great, especially when dunked in the creamy soup. This menu item is also part of the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.
This year, we were reminded why we LOVED this the first time around. It’s fantastic! Our reporter finds that the tomato soup works best when it’s dipped with grilled cheese. The soup is nice and thick and makes a great dipping sauce.
One important note here, though. After chatting with a few other EPCOT guests, we determined that this booth has the potential to be inconsistent. We happened to get a fresh, warm sandwich, but the person sitting next to us felt that their sandwich had been sitting out a little longer, and they left a little disappointed. This is one of the MOST popular booths we’ve seen, so Cast Members are working at max capacity to crank out a LOT of sandwiches. Your sandwich miiiight not be freshly made when it’s your turn to order, but we still feel confident enough about the food here to recommend this booth to you.
This year, a new item has made its appearance as the booth’s dessert! You can grab the Rock the Dots White Chocolate and Orange Mousse with vanilla bean chiffon cake for $5.25. This dessert looks pretty, and we couldn’t wait to try it.
We really enjoyed this mousse! It reminded us of a creme brûlée square in terms of texture, but this one had a sweet vanilla bean flavor with a hint of citrusy orange. The outer chocolate shell was light, and we enjoyed the soft crunch when we broke into it with our fork. You mostly get a white chocolate flavor here, so keep that in mind if you prefer milk or dark chocolate.
Alright, now that our bellies are a little fuller, let’s check out the drinks at Pop Eats!.
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Bleu Spectrum, which is Blanc de Bleu Cuvée Mousseux with boba pearls! This is also returning from last year; we picked it up for $10.50.
We got this last year and weren’t the biggest fans, but we wanted to give it another shot to see if it had upped its game. It’s still a very appealing drink to look at (it certainly fits the theme of the festival!), and it’ll go on our Instagram page beautifully. But in terms of flavor, it tasted like a nonalcoholic mimosa for children. The flavors here were a little on the simple, sugary side. It’s fun to look at, but there’s nothing special about this drink.
Also returning this year is the Brooklyn Brewery Pulp Art Hazy IPA. This drink is $9.75. It’s a pretty standard IPA.
OVERALL
Overall, this booth continues to be a favorite! You can’t beat either of the grilled cheeses served here. We might suggest staying away from the Bleu Spectrum, but other than that, we’ll keep returning to Pop Eats! each year.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
