Who is ready to book a Disney Cruise?
We are! So we’ve been getting more and more excited about sailing on Disney’s NEWEST ship, the Disney Treasure. This ship is going to be OFF THE HOOK with a Coco-themed restaurant, a Haunted Mansion lounge, and more! But we’re also excited about the new Moana show that’s coming to the Treasure. Now, we’ve got NEW details about the show.
Disney previously announced that a new Broadway-style production, Disney The Tale of Moana, would be coming to the ship. The show will feature set design and music inspired by the Pacific Islands for the first stage adaptation of the Moana film. The show will feature puppetry, including a massive fiery Te Kā that will transform into Te Fiti towards the end of the show.
A new song has also been written for the show. Moana and Maui will sing “Warrior Face” when the demigod teaches Moana how to face her fears before she faces Tamatoa. But don’t worry, lots of your favorite Moana songs will also be featured, including “You’re Welcome,” “We Know The Way,” and “How Far I’ll Go.”
Disney The Tale of Moana will begin just like the movie, on the island of Motunui. The spirit of Gramma Tala will be the narrator, while the show uses “vibrant dance and songs in a mix of languages including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan and Samoan” to tell Moana’s story as she journeys to restore the heart of Te Fiti. Here’s a peek at the scene “An Innocent Warrior.”
We also got a sneak peek at the “How Far I’ll Go” scene, as the set transforms into the open ocean. According to Disney, “Twinkling stars will swirl overhead and a giant, glowing manta ray will emerge and soar above the audience as a newfound sense of courage fills Moana.” The giant manta ray is the spirit of Gramma Tala, which is guiding Moana on her journey.
It looks pretty incredible so far, right? We can’t wait to see it! The Disney Treasure will begin setting sail in December 2024.

Warrior Face was a song originally written for the movie but was cut. It’s in the deleted scenes and is soooo good!
