We’ve got GREAT news for fans of iconic Disneyland rides!
One of the most beloved rides in Disneyland Park is “it’s a small world,” which takes guests on “the happiest cruise that ever sailed.” The ride features nearly 300 animatronic dolls that represent children from cultures all across the world. Those dolls serenade visitors with what might be the catchiest song ever; You only have to ride it once to have that song stuck in your head all day! This ride was closed for a couple of weeks as Disney refurbished the attraction, but now it’s finally reopening soon!
“it’s a small world” will reopen in Disneyland Park tomorrow, on January 19th! Opening times are posted for the 19th from 8AM through 12AM.
The ride was closed starting on January 8th, so the closure lasted not quite two weeks. When a ride closes for refurbishment, Disney usually refreshes the paint job, updates anything that needs to be changed, and checks on the mechanics of the attraction. We can expect this ride to be running smoothly for a while after its touch-ups.
This ride isn’t the only one getting some changes or a refresh! Some other ride and restaurant closures are currently impacting Disneyland, including the following:
- Mark Twain Riverboat –– Closed on September 17th; Anticipated Reopening Date: February 3rd, 2024
- Astro Orbitor — Closed November 27th; Anticipated Reopening Date: Not yet known

Part of the closure for Small World is they take the Winter Holiday decorations and native costuming off the singers and return them to the normal every day wear of the locations….
My older sister’s favorite ride so we get to ride it every year that we head to the park…..
