Things are changing a lot in Disney World these days!
The EPCOT transformation is nearly complete, several hotels are getting big makeovers, and the old Splash Mountain is getting converted into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. Outside of the ride being closed, that last one hasn’t affected park traffic too much…until now!
Even though Splash Mountain closed, we’ve still been able to get to the Frontierland train station, despite it being located directly above the queue for the flume ride. But recently, Disney started construction on part of the train station and it CHANGES how you board the Walt Disney World Railroad.
Previously, the entrance to the train station was located on the right side, with riders taking a steep staircase to get to the top. Now, that staircase is blocked off, so you’ll need to use the temporary entrance on the left side staircase instead. When you arrive, you should see signs directing you down the correct path.
The wheelchair/ECV/stroller ramp is still available on the far right side for those who need it. And currently, the train is still operating as usual
One other major change that happened recently is that the Frontierland restrooms have been blocked. These restrooms are located in the exit queue of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and are temporarily closed due to construction on the queue area. For the nearest available bathrooms, head to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe.
We’ll keep you updated if anything else changes with this construction project. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
