The Disney Vacation Club can be a great way for your family to stay at beautiful Disney resorts.
If you use your Disney Vacation Club points, rent some points, or pay out of pocket, you can stay at one of the many DVC locations at Disney World. You can rent rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Beach Club, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and so many others. One DVC rental has been getting a major overhaul and is set to open this summer, and now we were able to get a NEW look at some concept art!
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins have been getting completely remodeled for some time now. Until recently, all we knew was that they would be opening sometime in the summer of 2024. But then, we learned that they will officially be open for renting on July 1st, 2024!
On the day of the opening date announcement, we also got a new look at some concept art for the cabins. Here’s a peek at the proposed floor plan of the cabins that Disney shared to The Cabins’ website!
Disney also included a new look at the pull-down bed which will be part of the cabins.
And check out this art of the bathroom! It’s so sleek, contemporary, and still outdoorsy.
The cabins will sleep up to six adults and have a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. And some of the cabins will even be dog-friendly! These cabins could be perfect for your family on your next Disney World vacation.
Sales for DVC membership points for The Cabins will start on February 1st, 2024 for existing members. You can add on The Cabins by contacting your DVC Guide or by contacting Member Sales at (800)-800-9800. DVC members who have added on points at The Cabins can begin to book sales online on February 15th, 2024. The general public will have access to the sales on February 27th, and new DVC members whose home resort is The Cabins can begin booking online or with Member Services on March 12th. After April 23rd, all members can begin booking stays!
You can take a look at the breakdown of points below.
We’re getting excited to try out these new cabins! Will you be booking them this year? As we learn more, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Thanks so much for these continuing updates! I probably just don’t know how to look at the pictures for the cabin designs, but.. it looks like there is still just one, tiny closet, now located in the bathroom? And no ‘dresser’ space in the living area at all? I know there are all kinds of mixed feelings about the cabin changes, I have them myself, but it will be a real shame if one of the problems the redesign doesn’t fix is the too limited clothing storage space in the current cabins. The current closet is tiny, and the drawers in the bedroom are almost silly they’re so small. There is a large ‘dresser’ type storage unit in the living area of the current cabins, but based on these pictures, it looks like that is GONE. The current clothing storage in the cabins is inadequate for 4-6 people for a visit longer than 1-2 days, and for even fewer people if you were staying more than a few days, especially in winter when there are full length pants, coats, sweatshirts, etc. I would NOT have given up the drawer space in the living area for a second floor to ceiling window. One is enough in that small space. I’m hoping I just don’t understand what I’m looking at.

The outside looks like something from a tacky trailer park! This supposed to to be Fort Wilderness not ….whatever this is.😟
