When you’re deciding where to stay for your Disney World vacation, you may decide to splurge on a moderate or deluxe hotel room.
Some of these rooms are expensive, but some of them are just RIDICULOUSLY expensive. It may make you wonder, why the heck would anyone pay that much for a hotel room? But, surprisingly there are some reasons why those wildly expensive rooms do get booked time and time again.Â
Fort Wilderness Resort
A Wilderness Cabin at Fort Wilderness Resort starts at $455 a night, which isn’t nearly as bad as other Disney hotels, but it is still quite expensive. These cabins are also currently going through a refurbishment, and we can’t wait to see the outcome! While they will be DVC rentals when complete, anyone can rent DVC points from a reputable service (like David’s Vacation Club Rentals, we love them!) to book these rooms.
So what’s so special about these cabins? Well, for one thing, it’s an individual cabin, so you and your group have it all to yourselves! It can sleep up to 6 adults, and you’re not sharing walls with any other rooms, which can be glorious.
These cabins also include a full kitchen, which is invaluable if you’re keeping food you’ve ordered from a grocery store, or leftovers from the parks in your room.
Overall, while these can still be expensive, they’re a little easier to justify if you’re going with a larger group —Â having your own space in a place like Disney World is really something.
Savanna View at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Animal Kingdom Lodge is a deluxe resort, for good reason, but the real reason to stay there is for the savanna. That’s why, even though the rooms are more expensive, staying in a savanna view room is totally worth the cost.
That is, if you love animals. If you don’t, this probably isn’t the right resort for you, but waking up to look out onto animals grazing the savanna is an experience like no other.
These rooms START at $640 a night to sleep up to 4 adults — that’s a pretty penny, but it’s for a pretty view.
This room will also include a beverage cooler, coffee and tea station, and a patio or balcony. Sitting on your balcony, watching the animals while you drink your coffee? Say no more, we’re there.
Theme Park View at the Contemporary Resort
Part of the perk of staying at the Contemporary Resort is that you’re literally within walking distance of Magic Kingdom. It’s a fantastic resort to see the fireworks from.
If Magic Kingdom is a big part of your vacation and you want to see it every moment of the day, then a Theme Park View room in the Main Tower may be worth the price.
So what are you dropping on this room with a fantastic view? Well, these rooms start at $800 a night and are more expensive depending on the time of year.
These rooms also include a beverage cooler, coffee and tea station, and a patio or balcony. Plus, you’ll get to experience the Incredibles-themed room (which honestly, some people love and some don’t, so we don’t know how you feel about that). So you’ll be able to watch the fireworks from your balcony instead of just through the window!
Resort Studios at the Grand Floridian Resort
The Grand Floridian Resort’s rooms are ALL expensive, bit we enter a different level of expensive when we talk about the Resort Studio Theme Park View rooms.
These rooms start at $862 a night, but they offer a fantastic view across the lake of Magic Kingdom. So you get fireworks and a water view all in one!
What’s also special about these rooms is that they’re close to the Main Building and pools. This hotel certainly isn’t small, so you’ll rest easy knowing you won’t have a massive trek to your hotel room each night. You’ll also get to experience the room being beautifully and subtly themed to Mary Poppins.
Similar to other deluxe hotels, these rooms also come with a beverage cooler, coffee and tea station, and a patio or balcony.
Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
And finally, we come to one of the most expensive and sought after options on Disney World property — the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are NOT to be underestimated, both in price and in elegance.
These private bungalows STARTED at $3,309 in 2023 if you were paying all in cash. Now, these are reserved for DVC members or those renting DVC points, and in that case, your cost will go down a bit, but it’s still one of the most expensive rooms in Disney World.
So, what makes it so special? Well, for one, these are PRIVATE bungalows that sleep up to 8 adults in each, and they’re situated right on Bay Lake. Not only does this mean you’ll get an incredible view every moment you’re in the bungalow, but you’ll also be able to see the Electrical Water Pageant each night very clearly.
Additionally, these give you everything you need and more. They come with 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, living and dining areas, a washer and dryer, and a private deck with a plunge pool. While Bay Lake may be pretty, you can’t swim in it, so having the pool attached is a great trade.
It’s a fantastic room to save up for and take a once in a lifetime trip to, if you can find a time they’re not booked. Even with their high price point, these Bungalows are almost constantly booked all year round.

Benjamin Pfister says
I was blown away by the Savannah view when we used our DVC points to stay in a 3 bedroom. For this list, I’d add Boulder Ridge Villas due to the tranquil vibes of Wilderness Lodge and the Lion King Suites in Art of Animation as they’re perfect for the family and bursting with color.
