We’re constantly on the lookout for new additions that could change your Disney World vacation!
This means we keep an eye on the construction projects going on within the property lines, but it also means we keep up-to-date with Orlando area news! And recently, it was announced that a NEW development is being built near Disney Springs.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that AIC Hotel Group, which also owns several Hard Rock Hotels, purchased about 50 acres of vacant property just north of the Orlando Marriott World Center Resort in 2018 for $32.75 million. The group has now filed preliminary plans in Orange County for a massive resort east of Disney Springs.
The master plans include four hotels with a combined 1,934 rooms, 16 restaurants with seating for 2,600 diners and an entertainment venue with a capacity of 1,625 guests. There are also plans for 270 apartments designated as Club Membership Units and a 26,000-square-foot spa.
AIC Hotel Group is also associated with the Nobu hotel brand. The Nobu Hotels website says the Orlando resort will feature 300 rooms, including eight villas, a Nobu restaurant, 50 branded residences, and meeting and event space. The master plan doesn’t specify how Nobu will fit into the resort at large, but the Nobu Hotels website notes that its hotel will open in 2026.
This property is accessible from Meadow Creek Drive and has north frontage on Interstate 4, west on the World Marriott Resort’s golf course, and east by Starwood’s Vistana Resort. It’s a prime location for tourism, with only a short drive to the Walt Disney World property.
We’ll be interested to learn more about this development and share details as they are released. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest!

Seems like more and more, Florida is becoming the playground of the rich. Its not just Disney; everything being built will be sporting prices out of reach to the average person. I hope I’m wrong.

I’m curious about the ingress/egress to the property. I own a timeshare at Vistana just to the east. I was there the 3rd week of December and it literally took 30 minutes to travel the half mile from the resort gate to I-4. If the entrance is off Meadowcreek, the traffic on SR 535 will only get worse. Hopefully they direct their visitors out through the Marriott side to the West.
