Foolish Mortals, we are NOT here with good news.
Disney World’s Haunted Mansion probably lands in our Top 5 Comfort Rides. It’s not weird at all that a ride about murder and ghosts and dead people and failed marriages is comforting to us. We don’t have to talk about it. Anyway, since this is our comfort ride, we ride it like, all the time. Today, we were moving right along in our Doom Buggy when we noticed that a travesty has occurred.
One of the iconic scenes in the Haunted Mansion ride is the Endless Hallway. Here, you’ll find a super cool optical illusion that makes the hallway seem like it’s stretching on and on and on forever and ever. At the end of the hallway, you’ll see a floating candelabra. Spooky, huh?
Well, not so spooky anymore! An endless hallway is one thousand times less spooky when you’re not seeing a floating object that hints at the fact that ghosts are present. That’s right, goblins and ghouls. The candelabra has gone MISSING.
Over at the Haunted Mansion, the floating candelabra is MISSING from

This isn’t the only recent change to the area, though. At the end of 2023, there was the addition of the Hatbox Ghost right next to the entrance of the hallway.
It could be entirely possible that the candelabra was removed so as not to distract from the Hatbox Ghost scene, but it’s equally possible that it was just briefly removed for maintenance. Sometimes things don’t work as they should inside the rides, and Disney would rather remove it entirely until it’s fixed — as opposed to leaving a broken element of the ride for all to see. We’ll have to keep an eye out to see whether or not the candelabra returns!
We’ll be sure to keep you all updated with more Disney news, so follow along for more so that you never miss a thing.

Always go on it. They should put the hatbox ghost in the attic. I love the endless hall.

The hallway shouldn’t have been touched. The Hatbox ghost belonged later in the ride.

I have been going to WDW since 1971. The Haunted Mansion has always been my favorite ride. Although the ballroom is impressive, the candelabra (I think) is the most eerie effect on the ride. Please don’t get rid of it – move the ghost instead.

this is my favorite ride with POC a close second. I am aiming to go back in Jan 2025. Any word if HM will be closing for refurb? I’d hate to go and it not be open

They need to add back the candlestick!
