We can’t wait for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to open in Magic Kingdom!
The new addition will be making its debut sometime in 2024 and we’ve been keeping an eye on the latest updates and every bit of news we can get from Disney. But, as we spend more time in the park around the construction site, we can’t help but think that some people seem to be a bit confused. This got us thinking, could Disney’s innocent mistake lead to major Magic Kingdom disappointment?
We’re pretty darn excited about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening later this year in Magic Kingdom. Because of that, we’ve been spending a lot of time in the park trying to catch glimpses of the latest updates and construction changes. But, that also means we happen to overhear quite a bit of people making a serious mistake. You see, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a new ride that is taking the place of the former Splash Mountain. It is NOT a new restaurant as some people seem to believe.
It’s happened to multiple DFB reporters on more than one occasion. We think the “Tiana’s Foods” signs plastered across the construction walls likely have something to do with it. Once, we saw some folks looking at the posters and saying things like, “They must be putting the dining room up there,” and, “There’s going to be a restaurant on the ground level.”
What makes things even more confusing is that Disney actually did open a Tiana-themed restaurant in 2023 — but over in Disneyland. Tiana’s Palace replaced The French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square and serves up Creole and Cajun classics. But, as of now, Disney hasn’t made any sort of announcements about a Tiana’s Palace Restaurant coming to the East Coast. Trust us, we’re just as hopeful as you are, though!
We don’t claim to see the future here at DFB, but if folks are excited about a new restaurant at Disney World that doesn’t actually end up coming to Disney World, well, we can see how that would lead to some serious disappointment. Of course, Disney could still surprise us and announce that a similar restaurant concept could come to Magic Kingdom, but for now, we’ll have to cross our fingers and keep hoping.
In the meantime, though, we’re still extremely stoked about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The story will pick up The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”
Stay tuned to DFB as we bring you more news about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the latest changes coming to Disney World!
