Elon Musk’s quest to defeat Disney doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
After Disney pulled advertising from X (formerly Twitter), Musk had quite a few choice words to say about CEO Bob Iger. We also recently learned that the SpaceX owner was funding a lawsuit against Disney brought forth by former Star Wars actress Gina Carano, and now, it looks like Musk has taken to X once again. This time, to post about Disney’s Inclusion Standards.
Elon Musk has taken to X to accuse the Walt Disney Company of “mandatory, institutionalized racism and sexism” in a new post.
An anonymous source just sent me this from Disney. It is mandatory, institutionalized racism and sexism! pic.twitter.com/npMy8YfA1j

In addition to his statement, he also shared an image of what he claims are Disney’s Inclusion Standards — essentially, the Company’s efforts to make sure their employees both on and off the screen come from diverse backgrounds and demographics.
The image appears to be similar to the Inclusion Standards set forth by ABC (which is owned by Disney) back in 2020.
Not only that, but Musk posted, “If you were discriminated against by Disney or its subsidiaries (ABC, ESPN, Marvel, etc), just reply to this post to receive legal support[.]” This is likely about the fact that Musk is currently bankrolling a lawsuit brought forth by Gina Carano.
Carano, the MMA fighter turned actress, has filed a complaint in California federal court against Disney and Lucasfilm. The lawsuit alleges that she was fired for sharing her Republican opinions on social media.
She is looking to win the case which would require Lucasfilm to recast her and pay at least $75,000 and punitive damages. Carano was fired in 2021 after she shared a post that implied that “being a Republican is like being Jewish during the Holocaust.” She had often posted on social media, primarily X, about sensitive topics about her right-wing opinions.
The complaint states, “Defendants (Disney and Lucasfilm) went so far as to try and convince Carano’s publicist to force Carano to issue a statement admitting to mocking or insulting an entire group of people, which Carano had never done.” According to the case, Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy, told Carano to meet with her and 45 employees who identified as LGBTQ+, to which Carano refused and was then fired shortly after.
The suit, which claims wrongful discharge and sex discrimination, is being funded by Elon Musk via X. Elon Musk had recently pledged that X would fund legal action for anyone who claims they faced discrimination for their activity on the social media platform. Musk stated that the offer to fund lawsuits came with “no limit” to cost and that he would “go after the boards of directors of the companies, too.”

I hope Carano wins.
Todd says
Go away Elon. Perhaps he should put focus on making his companies profitable. The best outcome for any of his companies is for the board of directors to vote him out entirely.

Angered people coupled with government or political or social policies never mix well. Get the job because you have a skill while allowing access to education so that everyone can get the skills. That is the best way but I know the present situation is a mess.
Darlyn says
I hope Carano wins as well… it isn’t right that only one side is being represented. As a Hispanic woman, I would prefer to see and know that the Disney Company employment policy was based on merit rather than some random immutable characteristic as my skin color, gender, or where I was born. We are all Americans and we all immigrated to the US with hopes living the American dream which included living in a world like the one presented in Main Street USA.
Fred says
Seems like a quota system in place. A company should work towards making a quality product.
Randi Briggs says
I’m rooting for Carano. I don’t care about underrepresented groups – I want the best person for the job, no matter what color, or how they prefer to have sex. I want excellence, not exclusion because someone happens to be white, or anything else. Who wants a doctor or pilot who was hired because of their color etc. rather than they were best at what they do? Same with Disney. Discrimination is discrimination no matter who it is against.
Kate says
Discrimination? Sounds to me like Carrano was told to do something by her boos, refused & was fired as anyone of us would be.
