Disney tried something NEW this past winter. Something ambitious and — in theory — perfect for its loyal audience of holiday party guests. So what went wrong?
As you may know, events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are wildly popular. These parties sell out pretty much every year, and fans return over and over again. But Disney’s NEW Jollywood Nights holiday party didn’t seem to have the success many expected. Several party dates came and went without selling out, and the overall reception was lukewarm. Will Disney bring Jollywood Nights BACK in 2024? We may have a clue!
From time to time, Disney sends out surveys via email. These surveys can cover a wide range of topics, from park cleanliness to overall satisfaction. The surveys are relatively short and include a mix of multiple-choice questions, Likert Scale questions, and open-ended questions.
But Disney offers another type of survey that’s a little more exclusive and a LOT more time-consuming. Recently, Disney sent an email to people who attended Jollywood Nights. The email invited recipients to participate in a new Disney Jollywood Nights research study. The email explained that Disney is looking to capture people’s thoughts and opinions about Disney Jollywood Nights.
To participate in the 75-minute online interview, you must be selected based on your response to a series of screening questions via a short online quiz. The quiz asked questions like, “If Jollywood Nights were to be offered in the future, what is the likelihood that you will return to the event again?” Here, if participants answered, “Definitely will return,” the quiz ended.
If selected, Disney will award participants a $125 gift card for their thoughts and time. The study is set to take place a few days in mid-February
Disney ended the email by stating, “We are genuinely interested in your feedback and hope to connect soon!” So, what could this mean for the future of Jollywood Nights? We’ll have to wait and see! In 2023, some guests felt that the event did not offer enough party-exclusive entertainment (like a parade, exclusive fireworks, and characters), while others felt that compared to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood simply didn’t measure up. Maybe Disney will take this feedback into consideration!
We’ll be on the lookout for more Disney holiday news and updates. In the meantime, we’re here to share ALLLL latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

Man, I wish they would’ve sent this survey out to everyone who attended Jollywood, because I was there night one, and I have a *lot* to say and share about it. I contacted Disney directly after with some feedback, but a “research survey” like this would’ve been nice!

My partner and I had a great time at Jollywood Nights. We loved the entertainment at the Tower of Terror courtyard and in the Brown Derby. We also loved that people dressed and it was aimed more at adults and not children. The lack of crowds was fantastic. We were only going to go for a little bit and ended up staying almost to the end.
