Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is a stunning, classic (expensive) hotel. It’s got a spa, a beautiful pool, views of Magic Kingdom, and some AMAZING dining options. But there’s one restaurant we’ve been missing for a while. In fact, it’s been closed since 2020!
We’ve had our eyes on the Disney website for YEARS, awaiting an update on one Grand Floridian restaurant. And finally — finally! — this dining spot has a reopening date. Mark your calendars, people! This is BIG!
Disney just announced that 1900 Park Fare will reopen with NEW dining offerings starting April 10th, 2024. Say WHAT?! Yep, as of this April, we can finally return to this classic restaurant for a meal just outside the gates of Magic Kingdom.
Disney hasn’t shared a peek at the new menu yet; in fact, the old menu was removed from the website altogether. But we did get an interesting hint. On the Disney website, we caught a line of text reading, “Check back on March 5th, 2024 for more information.” Oooh — what could that mean?!
In the past, this restaurant offered buffet dining with Disney characters. You could meet characters during both breakfast and dinner! During the breakfast meal, known as the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast, you could meet characters like Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, and even The Mad Hatter.
Then, the meal switched after breakfast to Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner, with appearances from Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and Cinderella’s stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella!
One of the signature menu items here was the Floridian Strawberry Soup. It was served during both breakfast and dinner and was a favorite among many Disney fans. It’s not quite a smoothie, but it’s not a warm, savory soup either. Instead, it’s a cold, sweet soup with a smooth texture and a few blended strawberries. Luckily, Disney announced that this menu item will RETURN!
Disney hasn’t shared any other updates on how 1900 Park Fare will look when it reopens, so stay tuned for updates! And for a little blast from the past, you can check out our last review from 1900 Park Fare (circa 2019) HERE.
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

This is very good news. We have been waiting for 1900 Park Fare to reopen. I have marked my calendar to book a reservation.

Back in the early 1990’s, my sister and I would stay at the Grand Floridian with my daughter and 2 cousins. The children were 10-12 years old. We had breakfast every morning in the restaurant. I have so many pictures of the kids with Mary Poppins, Pluto & Mickey and Minnie. I have so many souvenir cups from those days. We were visiting once the week that Princess Diana and her boys were visiting! And I found a $100 bill on the side walk outside of the restaurant! So many good memories.

This was one of my favorite buffets because it seemed to have higher quality food. Good to hear and I loved the funny step sisters.
I hope they get to stay.

I just read your other article about the character changes at this restaurant. Appreciate the updates so much, but I am so sad to miss out on so many characters that you can’t meet anywhere else. Who knows – maybe they will be shifted to places like Cinderella’s Castle or Epcot. All the ‘new’ characters can be met elsewhere.

As much as I love 1900 Park Fare and it was my favorite character meal, I am not at all happy with the changes and the characters that will now be featured. Tho not mentioned in this article, another blog announced that the characters of Tiana, Mirabel, Cinderella and Aladdin will be featured. Please tell me how these characters fit in with the Grand Floridian? Where are Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter? If this is the direction 1900 Park Fare is going, I don’t need to visit anymore. Maybe Cinderella fits but none of the other characters make sense. Another swing and a miss for Disney.
