Southwest Airlines announced that they have new seats coming to their planes!
As exciting as that sounds, the internet HATED them! The roasting commenced on TikTok over the new seats that were being designed by RECARO, a company that specializes in motorsport racing and gaming seats. Well, now another airline has brought some refreshing to its plane’s cabins and we have to tell ya, these updates seem much more well received.
Delta just announced an improved First Class seat that will be brought to select Boeing 737-800 aircraft starting this month. Unlike the new Southwest seats, these new Delta seats look fancy!
These seats have technically been around since 2022 on the airline’s A321neo aircraft, but will now be debuted on the Boeing 737-800 as well. The seats offer more privacy, more storage space, and a sturdier tray table. Plus, they’re just all around more comfortable.
First Class isn’t the only part of the cabin receiving an upgrade. Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin seating on some Boeing 737-800 aircraft will also have upgrades. New 10-in Panasonic screens will be added to the seat backs and the lavatories will be upgraded to add touchless features.
If you plan to take a long flight, you’ll be happy to learn that the Airbus A350-900s will be adding eight more lie-flat suites! This will bring the aircraft up to 40 Delta One Suites, 40 Delta Premium Select cabin seats, 36 extra legroom seats in Delta Comfort+, and 159 Main Cabin seats. These upgraded A350-900s will enter the fleet for service in Summer 2024.
Delta is excited to bring us these new upgrades, and we’re excited that the internet isn’t outraged over them because these seats sure look comfy!
