Listen, Disney World can be both the best and absolute worst.
The food, rides, entertainment, and level of immersion are just second to none, but that doesn’t mean Disney’s knocking it out of the park with everything they do. We figured it was time to address some of the unhinged things we’re begging Disney to stop doing in 2024.
Let’s talk about it!
Festival Date Fiascos
Hey Disney, do you remember the Flower and Garden Festival? The one you shrunk just a month before it started, throwing everyone’s meticulously planned springtime trips into disarray?
And don’t even get us started on the NEVER-ENDING saga of festival dates announced later and later and later. That leaves us scrambling to adjust vacations and budgets. Disney, we adore your festivals, but this announcement game needs a serious overhaul.
We’ve got the MENUS for the 2024 Flower & Garden Festival right here!
Early Holiday Madness
Look, we know Halloween is practically a national holiday at this point and we’re all for getting our spook on, but starting fall festivities in August? That’s like putting up Christmas lights before Halloween.
How about we keep the seasons right where they belong and not skip straight from sunscreen to pumpkin spice, alright?
When will tickets go on sale for the 2024 Halloween Party? We’re making an education guess!
Teasing Updates Forever
Don’t you just love the joy of a HUGE Disney announcement followed by… years of crumbs?? Disney, I mean, we’re all for anticipation, but can we please have some actual updates once in a while?
We get it, good things take time, but the anticipation is killing us. It’s like waiting for your favorite show to drop a new season, only to get a trailer once every six months.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is opening early, though!
The Opening Date Debacles
Speaking of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we’ve got a pretty good feeling that we’ve heard more “opening soon” announcements than actual ride details at this point.
Disney, any chance we can please, pretty please get a clear and concise opening date that doesn’t involve nine different press releases and a decoder ring? Our patience, and park passes, are starting to feel pretty thin.
What comes after the drop in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure? We’re sharing a clue!
The News Avalanche
Disney, we really appreciate being in the loop, but dropping a bazillion announcements at once and then ghosting us for weeks?
How about changing things up by spacing the news out a bit, and letting us savor each announcement instead of bombarding us with a news frenzy.
Those are just a couple of the things we’re hoping Disney will stop doing this year. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB as we bring you the latest from Disney World in 2024!

Laurel Lane says
Definitely agree with the early holiday madness. I used to go in August all the time. Now I avoid August because 1. it’s not fall yet and I want to see the parks the way they look normally; 2. because of the rush of holidays, the parks close early for the regular guests so Disney can start charging people to come to a special after hours party. I’m sorry people with kids in school or who have to work can’t see the park decorated for Halloween but that’s not any excuse to rush the seasons. It just gives you something to look forward to when you are in the position to go at that time.
