We’ve been impatiently watching construction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom for what feels like forever.
Okay, it’s only technically been about a year, but we’ve enjoyed watching progress on the new ride, like seeing the water tower going up and seeing all the new additions being added regularly. Well, on February 18th, we saw something HUGE happening on the ride, and we have to share it with you: WATER is flowing through Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. WATER, PEOPLE!!!
Those familiar with Splash Mountain, the ride that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replaced, know that the ride is a log flume ride, which means you need water to move the logs (filled with people) through the attraction. This basic design remains the same for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but this is the first time we’ve seen the ride filled with water. This could indicate that Disney is preparing to start testing the ride.
This is pretty exciting news y’all…we have WATER FLOWING at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!!! ✨🐸🌊 That summer 2024 opening date has never felt closer! pic.twitter.com/CtyXA5Qa5g

That’s not all, though, we also recently learned that boats are ON the water, which means Disney is probably already testing the ride. We’re SO CLOSE, people! Thanks to our follower @kaitlynducote for the video!
Boats are now being tested over at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! 🐸👑

We recently got an update that the ride is set to open EARLY in Disney World (this summer!), so we already know we’re pretty close to the opening date. Summer isn’t that far away, folks!
The ride will pick up the story after Tiana’s adventures in The Princess and the Frog, during New Orleans’ Carnival season (party!), and Tiana is hosting a Mardi Gras Party. The party is missing a “key ingredient,” though, so we are going to be asked to take a trip through the Bayou to find it.
We recently got a look at the Tiana animatronic we’ll see at the beginning of the ride, and um…WOW! She looks amazing.
Of course, music will also be a big part of the ride, with original music “inspired by songs from the film.” Many of the original voice actors from the film have also offered their voices for the ride, including Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis, Jennifer Lewis as Mama Odie, and, of course, Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for MORE Tiana’s Bayou Adventure updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

I don’t think the construction on this one feels like forever. The progress on this project seems much quicker than a lot of other projects during recent years. They’ve done a nice job of moving this one along once the work began.

I will have to watch the updates of what it looks like inside. Unfortunately I won’t ever ride it because I don’t want to get wet!!
