Already planning your 2025 Disney World trip? There’s going to be a lot to see!
With Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the EPCOT transformation, and several hotel renovations being completed in 2024, Disney World is going to feel refreshed and ready to rock in 2025. Packages and ticket bookings for next year are already open, and if you’re staying at a Disney World Resort, there’s going to be a BIG new perk!
Disney World has announced that in 2025, those staying at Disney Resorts (including DVC properties) will get a FREE park ticket to the water parks on their arrival day. You’ll be able to use this perk at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and only on your check-in day.
As it currently stands, this benefit is only available for those with check-in dates from January 1st to December 31st, 2025. Usage of the benefit is subject to availability and all visitors hoping to get into the water parks with complimentary admission MUST be listed on the hotel reservation.
Disney also notes that both water parks have annual refurbishments, but they will continue to be staggered. The website says, “Guests should be able to enjoy at least one water park experience year-round.” Since the pandemic, the two water parks haven’t yet been open at the same time, with one closing as soon as the other opens.
This discount DOES apply to Disney Vacation Club hotel stays. Here is a list of the hotels that qualify for this discount:

What if you are flying on an airplane and your flight is delayed on your check-in day or your flight arrives in the evening after the water park is closed? Would that mean I could not use the free water park ticket on my check in day if my flight is delayed until the evening?
LouiB says
Get to my hotel about 8pm coming from the West Coast, won’t be useful for me
DFB Gigi says
Hi Elizabeth! It’s too soon to confirm that you wouldn’t get to take advantage of that perk, but we will definitely look into that once the perk goes live. The way it reads at this time though is that you can only use it on check-in day and they’re subject to availability so everyone may not be able to use it if the water parks are busy.
Angela says
Will Shades of Green get this perk too?
Christian Magee says
On our travel days (1st and last day) we stay off property hotels. This saves money and with this offer, on your 2nd day. you can leave your luggage at bell service and go to the water parks. When room is ready, bell service will take them to your room.
Dan Maguire says
Not a great perk for those flying in from Europe also aren’t they included on certain tickets?
Tom Welsh says
Good for check-in day only is pretty worthless unless you’re a Florida Resident.
Sil says
When you say DVC Resort stays. Do you mean members get this perk also or for guests who book a package at a DVC Resort?
Sue says
We are DVc members coming from U K all our flights only land late afternoon or early evening ! Perhaps we would have to book the first night seperately to check in again the next day to get the perk !
Jack says
I guess “Huge” is in the eye of the beholder.
Natalie says
Ok, this is worth booking an earlier flight, even with the kids. Nice!
I don’t remember the usual summer hours and they aren’t listed for Typhoon Lagoon yet, but do they usually close by 5pm or is it more aligned with sundown?
It would be even cooler if they had a place to keep luggage. We would Uber right over! 🙂
Lois Pierce says
It seems to me like a “perk” that looks good on paper but is pretty worthless in reality. It’s only going to be good for people who are flying in early. And even then after all the effort to get to and from the airport, then to their hotel and check in, they may be too tired for something as strenuous as a water park. People driving or flying in later probably won’t have time to take advantage .
Deb says
Whoopie doodah free ticket to a water park ,no thanks
Justine Pearson says
Rules out most international travelers then. But then most of us have tickets that include the water parks anyway.
Cliff says
I can’t believe Disney did not notice the glitch in their supposed “perk” offer, as it would only benefit those families arriving by midday. Even then, with check-in being 3 pm for resorts and 4 pm for DVC properties, they’d have to arrive in their swimwear, as there is no guarantee the room would be available.
And it would hardly be fair to those buying tickets to a water park, as that park could be bombarded with thousands of additional guests trying to take advantage of their “free” offer.
jj skiddy says
Im holding out for the perk i used last month where each nite u get $120 gift card towards food….we got total of $720 for 6 nites……best bargain….hope for another this year…..probable not but one can hope !!!!
Brian says
Wish they would just make this effective in 2024, why wait?
MR Ducks says
I would rather see an “old perk” re-instated, like Magical Express that everyone can use when flying, but that would actually cost WDW $$.
Lindsay says
Pretty useless. Let people use it anytime during their stay. Delays happen, some take late flights. This one is a waste.
David says
I agree with most people that this is pretty pointless, unless you live in Florida or like staying up most of the night to land in Orlando by 9 or 10. However, if you hotel hop, would each stay at a new hotel reset the arrival date?
Vanessa says
I think this is brilliant. Not everyone flies into Disney and many people choose to stay at a different hotel on their travel day or they purposely arrive early in the day when they are driving (or flying for that matter). The question of what to do on arrival day has always been a popular one and many people bemoan using a theme park ticket on that day because it’s expensive and they aren’t getting a “full day”. This way people who plan accordingly can enjoy something special even for a few hours before hitting the parks refreshed and ready the next day. I love it! Can’t wait to take advantage of it next year!
By the way — why bother with so much negativity and nastiness? Whoopie doodah? Seriously? It seems like some people need to remember their childhood lessons of being polite and kind.
Elizabeth says
Now that I think about it this is great for split stays. I would definitely book a few one/two night stays and various Disney resorts and then get the free water park tickets with each stay. Maybe my flight does get delayed band I don’t get to use the water park tickets the first check in day but with a split stay my family could use it on the next hotel check in day. I always wanted to try a short day at the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge and a short stay is more affordable and free water park tickets so that would be great. I would probably stay a couple nights at Pop Century and then a couple nights at a deluxe resort.
Tom Welsh says
Whereas check-in is at 4 pm, this is worthless unless you’re local. If you’re local, why would you stay in an on-property hotel.
Nope, this is smoke and mirrors.
Bob says
Anyone know if Swan and Dolphin will get this perk as well?? Thanks
Deb says
How is that a” perk” it’s probably only any good for those who arrive early in the day, total waste for most people who arrive in the country late afternoon
Bob says
Well, if you are planning a trip, then plan to get their early so you can take advantage of it. That’s what I’m doing. Use it or lose it. Nothing is ever truly free, there’s an angle, then you gotta play Disney at their game.
PegP says
I’m amazed at how ingrateful many of these comments have been. Nothing in life is perfect for everyone. This is a great perk if it works in your plans. We’ll be taking an earlier flight than usual to make use of this free water park today. We’ve never gone to the water parks because it just was never in the budget since we’re not into the big slides. But now it’s free, we’ll go to check it out just because we’ve never been there and a nice, relaxing float on the lazy river while waiting for our room to be ready seems like a great way to start the vacation. If it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work for you. But that doesn’t mean it’s a crappy perk. Anything Disney offers for free should be embraced. If people keep complaining, why would Disney even keep trying to do nice things?
