Disney World is making quite a few changes these days.
Several hotels are getting refurbishments or additions, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is under construction in Magic Kingdom, and we’ve got quite a few expansions to look forward to in the future. But not everyone is happy with the latest news!
We recently reached out to our readers on Facebook to see which park changes they’re NOT excited about. And there were quite a few answers!
Disney has made a LOT of theme park announcements recently — which ones do you NOT want to happen?

But from all the responses, four things stood out above the rest. Let’s dive in!
DINOSAUR Going Away
Perhaps the most common complaint from the masses is that they don’t want Disney to get rid of DINOSAUR in Animal Kingdom. The beloved ride features a somewhat terrifying jump back in time to the age of the dinosaurs, and you either hate it…or you really, really love it.
Disney announced plans to retheme Dinoland USA to the Tropical Americas, and shared that Indiana Jones could be part of the new land. This likely means that DINOSAUR is being replaced with Indiana Jones Adventure, a similar ride that currently exists in Disneyland.Â

More IP in Animal Kingdom
And speaking of the changes coming to Dinoland USA, we received several complaints about Disney adding IP (intellectual property) to Animal Kingdom! Currently, the park has a few different intellectual properties, including Avatar, The Lion King, and A Bug’s Life, but not quite as many as some of the other parks do.
With the Tropical Americas-themed land, we could have Encanto and Indiana Jones, as well as whatever else Disney deems fit for the space. Many of our followers didn’t like the idea of these movies being featured in the park. We’ll be interested to see what Disney’s final plans include!

Country Bear Jamboree Updates
Another change that has upset our followers? The updates coming to Country Bear Jamboree. The show has been in Magic Kingdom since the beginning, and it recently closed to receive a big overhaul.Â
When it reopens, Country Bear Jamboree will have new songs and some of the characters will be changed. The show will be a take on classic variety shows found in Nashville, Tennessee, and Nashville musicians are involved in the new arrangements. The bears will perform their songs in new styles like country, rockabilly, and bluegrass.

New Characters at 1900 Park Fare
And finally, the last answer that our readers gave was that they’re upset about the new characters at 1900 Park Fare! This restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has been closed for nearly four years and will reopen on April 10th, 2024. But when it reopens, it will have new friends at the character meal!
The restaurant used to feature Cinderella and friends as well as characters like Alice, Mary Poppins, the Mad Hatter, and even Winnie the Pooh. But upon reopening, the character meal will feature Aladdin, Tiana, Mirabel, and Cinderella.Â

So there you go — some of the changes that our readers are NOT fans of in Disney World! We’ll be interested to see how all of these things pan out when they finally open. Stay tuned to DFB for all the updates until then.

Ronjon says
Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur are basically the same ride. Same track, same vehicles, but with different themes. Kind of like the Spiderman and Transformers rides at Universal, they also are pretty much the same ride. I think people who have never ridden the Indian Jones ride will like it.
Denise says
1900 Park Fare character breakfast should have remained Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh and Alice in Wonderland. The new characters do NOT fit in with the aesthetic of the Grand Floridian.
Barbara says
My husband says he’s not going back to DW if he cannot meet Mary Poppins again. 1900 Park Fare was always a treat for both of us – I’m a big fan of Tigger and Pooh. I guess it will be me and the grandkids from here on.
