Orlando International Airport (MCO) may feel pretty crowded lots of the time thanks to how many people fly in and out of the airport visiting Disney World.
However, certain parts of the year are busier than others, especially holidays! We’re always keeping you updated on the latest flight deals to help you get the best price flying into Orlando, but if you’re traveling during these days, we need to you prepare for ALL the crowds!
According to the Orlando Business Journal, MCO Airport is expecting to set a record with spring break travel, beginning as early as the middle of March.
Not only are spring breaks beginning to happen in March, but Easter is also quite early this year, landing on March 31st. That day, the last day of March, is on track to be the eighth-busiest travel day for the airport this spring season.
So what are the most crowded expected to be? The following three dates are expected to be the most crowded days this spring season:
- Saturday, March 23rd: 197,697 people
- Sunday, March 31st: 197,401 people
- Saturday, March 16th: 196,920 people
How can you make the most of crowded airport days? Be sure to arrive for your flight at least 2-3 hours early if flying domestically, and 3-4 hours early if flying internationally. You can also check the Orlando Airport security wait times by going to orlandoairports.net.
You can also use this handy tool, only available certain hours on select days, to reserve your spot in security before you arrive — sort of like a virtual queue! We’re always here to bring you the latest Orlando news, so stay tuned to DFB!
