We just realized that way too many of you have never tried a dirty soda, and some of you don’t even know what it IS, so I had to write this post so that you know you need to go get one ASAP. Really, it’s a public service announcement.
Some big news just dropped about a new dirty soda product, so whether you already know about and love those tasty drinks or you’ve literally never heard that in your life and you’re kind of scared and not sure whether it’s OK to be reading this (don’t worry, it is), this news is for you.
Coffee Mate and Dr Pepper have teamed up to create the NEW Coffee Mate Dirty Soda Coconut Lime Flavored Creamer! According to the brands’ announcements, the limited-edition creamer “is made to be mixed with the unique blend of 23 flavors in Dr Pepper for the ultimate dirty soda experience.”
When we saw this news pop up, we noticed that not all of the comments were positive. Some people thought Coffee Mate had gone TOO FAR. But some of the comments were just confused — one person even commented, “Um, who asked for this?” That’s when we knew we had to write this and make sure you’re all up to date on the dirty soda trend!
Dirty soda is by no means a new thing. It’s been all over TikTok for a while now, and you can find recipes for dirty sodas all over the internet! What IS dirty soda, you might ask? It’s super simple, actually: Dirty soda is just soda with flavorings in it, usually creamer or coconut-flavored syrup.
I first learned about dirty soda when I lived in Utah, where the trend is SUPER popular. Soda shops like Swig and Sodalicious have menus full of different flavors, and you can even customize your drink however you like. You can add flavored syrups, creamers, even puréed fruit (that makes it healthy, right? 😅).
Since I moved out of Utah, I’ve been missing those fun sodas! Soda shops like the ones in Utah haven’t quite caught on where I live now yet, but I’m holding out hope. Sonic’s dirty sodas have been a fine substitute in the meantime.
So I was SUPER excited to see that now I can make my own dirty soda with a creamer that’s actually made just for that purpose! Of course, I’ve been making dirty sodas on my own using those handy recipes from TikTok, but I can’t wait to try the new creamer that’s created specifically for these drinks.
Coffee Mate announced that this new creamer will be available at grocery stores nationwide for a limited time only, starting this month! So we need your opinion — what do you think of this new product? Are you running to Walmart to grab it, or are you staying as far away as possible?

I’m allergic to artificial ingredients, flavorings being one of the biggest… this is just ick. No bueno, no gracias.

We called such mixed flavor soda from the fountain by a different name. Don’t think it had Mr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb, which I find each a terrible flavor on its own. Flavors were generally Coke, Sprite, root beer like Barq’s, and an orange soda.

My mother was drinking coke with chocolate syrup back in the 1940’s. So soda with add-ins is nothing new
to us. We live in NJ.

There is Swig near us. It was real busy when it first opened and they were giving out the free drinks. I’m not impressed. People go there, but I would not say it is popular at all. Our area is a pretty health conscious so I imagine that is part of it not being popular.

I was watching anoter YouTuber and he was having lunch and had a Coke and put creamer in it. I had never heard of this before. I know Sonic has had flavor add ins forever but never knew it was called “dirty”.

Since I have a Sodalicious, Soda Rush and Twisted Sugar all within 10 minutes of my house, I think I’ll leave the mixing of my dirty sodas to the experts! But if that wasn’t the case, this would be a fun option.
Kevin says
I hope to find that where I live! I want to try it!!

I remember watching Laverne & Shirley re-runs when I was a kid and Laverne always put milk in her Pepsi. Back then I thought that was SO WEIRD, but I guess it’s a thing.
