So you’re ready to book a 2025 trip to Disney World.
You’ve done the planning and picked out your hotel, decided on which park tickets you need, and maybe even decided where you want to eat. Perhaps you’ve even made a packing list so you’re ready when the time comes to get ready for travel. But there is one thing you might not be thinking of when it comes to packing.
As you’ve probably already discovered, staying at a Disney World hotel offers some pretty nice perks. You’ll get Early Theme Park Entry, which lets you into the parks 30 minutes before they open to the public. If you’re staying at a Disney World deluxe hotel, you’ll also get Extended Evening Hours at select parks on select evenings. But there’s a NEW perk you may not know about.
Starting in 2025, if you’re staying at a Disney World resort, you will get a FREE park ticket to the water parks on your arrival day. This ticket will be good to use at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. That means you can just drop your stuff off at your hotel on your check-in day and go have some fun at the water park!
That also means that you’ll want to make sure you’re prepared to do that. You’ll want to make sure to pack your swim gear and water park stuff (like sunscreen) in a place where you can easily get to when you arrive in Disney World. We’d recommend putting it in your carry-on, so it’s easy to grab. Note that if you arrive at your hotel early, your room may not be ready, but you can still grab your gear for the water park and then check your bags with the hotel for storage.
Of course, if you’re driving or you’ve rented a car, you could always just drive directly to the water park, grab your swimming suits, and have some water fun before checking into your hotel. Note that the water parks do have lockers if you need a place to keep your things while you’re splashing around.
One of the water parks is open at any given time, so you’ll need to check which one will be open during your trip, as well as check the hours. The parks do close occasionally if the weather is cold or stormy, so you may not be able to use this perk. According to the Disney website:
“Parks, attractions and other offerings subject to availability, closures and change or cancellation without notice or liability. No refund or credit given for any such changes or cancellation. Park admission and offerings are not guaranteed.”
So it seems like if you get rained out or the weather is cold, this perk will not be available.
