I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan, so y’all already know how excited I am that her Eras Tour movie is finally on Disney+! Every self-respecting Swiftie has had The Eras Tour | Taylor’s Version running on a loop full-time ever since it debuted.
But Taylor’s Eras Tour film wasn’t the only change on Disney+ when it debuted on March 14th. The entire platform was TRANSFORMED. Seriously, it’s probably the best thing that ever happened to Disney+.
Taylor Swift The Eras Tour | Taylor’s Version debuted on Disney+ on March 14th at 6PM PST, which is 9PM EST. As soon as the movie dropped, I went straight to Disney+!
But when I opened the app, I noticed that the new movie wasn’t the only Swiftie thing on the platform! All of the movies had been organized into Eras on the homepage!
Disney took all of Taylor’s albums and sorted their own movies by those categories! Fearless (Disney’s Version) had The Marvels, Percy Jackson, Brave, and other adventurous movies with brave protagonists. Speak Now (Disney’s Version) had romantic movies like The Princess Bride and Enchanted. Red (Disney’s Version) was a bit more on-the-nose with lots of movies that have a red color scheme! 1989 (Disney’s Version) was all movies that came out in 1989.
Reputation (Disney’s Version) had some awesome villain-esque movies like Cruella, Deadpool, and Maleficent. Lover (Disney’s Version) of course started with Forky’s Pixar short “What is Love?” (because what else would it start with? 😂). Folklore (Disney’s Version) had Snow White, Narnia, the live-action Beauty and the Beast and…Gravity Falls. We’re not 100% sure how Gravity Falls fits in, so comment below if you see the connection, because we’re dying of curiosity.
Evermore (Disney’s Version) had sort of mysterious, adventurous movies that focus on magic and enchantment, like Ever After, Tuck Everlasting, Twitches, and Into the Woods. And Midnights (Disney’s Version) had movies where midnight is important, like Cinderella and Werewolf by Night. Whoever’s job it was to sort all the Disney movies into the Eras, we’re super jealous.
Although we were really hoping this change would be permanent, the platform has unfortunately already switched back and is no longer sorted by Taylor’s eras.
You can stream The Eras Tour on Disney+ now! Don’t forget, though, that Disney+ has started its password-sharing crackdown, so if you run into any issues logging in, that might be why.
