Not all Disney World rides are created equal.
Without question, Disney World offers some of the best theme park attractions IN THE WORLD. From innovative Star Wars experiences to a journey through Pandora, the world of Avatar, Disney World boasts some insanely popular rides. However, not every ride is a huge hit with the park guests, and our experts have pinpointed two rides that severely lack in popularity.
Don’t get us wrong — we don’t hate either of these rides. In fact, one of them, especially, holds a sentimental place in our hearts. Still, the data doesn’t lie, and it looks like most parkgoers tend to skip these two attractions, lending them to have the lowest average wait times among the four Disney World Parks.
It’s important to note that wait times can be affected by factors such as capacity, ride times, and loading speed. With that said, let’s check out the two rides our experts highlighted!
TriceraTop Spin
TriceraTop Spin over at DinoLand, U.S.A. is Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s version of the classic Dumbo the Flying Elephant aerial carousel-style ride. The seats are kind of small which doesn’t really accommodate taller passengers and although it’s fun to fly around in dinosaurs, the ride doesn’t offer anything truly unique that can’t be found at another Disney Park.
The lack of uniqueness could be a huge factor in this ride’s lack of popularity since Animal Kingdom is absolutely stacked with rides and experiences that you can’t experience anywhere else in the world.
The ride time is around 90 seconds and wait times seldom exceed 20 minutes, so if you’re looking for a quick and charming (yet forgettable) ride, TriceraTop Spin is a safe choice, especially if you have small children.

Journey Into Imagination With Figment
It breaks our hearts to list Journey Into Imagination With Figment as one of the least popular Disney World rides, but the numbers don’t lie. We may have a ton of nostalgia for this EPCOT classic, but it seems not everyone agrees. The ride takes you on a tour of the Imagination Institute with Dr. Nigel Channing and Figment, a purple dragon and an EPCOT original character. During the tour you will explore the five senses with a comedic twist.
Admittedly, the perception of the ride has soured over the years due to ride changes (including the failed Journey Into YOUR Imagination). Additionally, EPCOT’s inclusion of bigger E-ticket attractions such as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! have begun to make Journey Into Imagination With Figment a skippable attraction if you’re running short on time.
The ride itself lasts for six minutes and wait times hardly reach over 20 minutes, although popularity can increase during the holidays when Figment gets a holiday sweater.

They should try to bring back the original ride, with Dream finder.

Journey into imagination with figment is one of my favourite rides in wdw. Granted its no thrill ride and is mot the most fancy ride. However it is a nice relaxing ride, where we can gey out the heat, enjoy a ride, sing along to “one little spark” . Yes I love guardians, slinky etc, but to me it’s a lovely ride, especially with kids, one of which is nervous of thrill rides and she loves figment. I can’t wait to come back to America from the UK to meet figment
Lois says
I agree with Marcelo, though I’d like to see the old ride updated. I can still sing “ One Little Spark”!

I was a huge fan of the original Journey and would love to see it come back. My favorite memory on the new Journey Into Imagination came on our last family vacation to WDW. It had been 8 years since we had been to WDW and my son was now 14. While he remembered Figment, he didn’t really remember the ride. He’s not big on roller coasters, so he asked if there any drops like on Pirates. Me being a responsible Dad said that I would let him know before we went down any drop on the ride. My son was on pins and needles the whole ride, constantly asking if the drop was coming up. I kept reassuring him that I would warn him before a drop. We obviously made it to the end of the ride without me having to issue this warning. As we were approaching the unloading zone, my son looks at me and angrily goes, “There weren’t ANY drops.” I looked at him and went, “I know. But it had your imagination going.” Apparently my son doesn’t always appreciate my sense of humor.

When my granddaughter was three, she and I rode Triceratops Spin at least four times in a row while the rest of the family did other rides. While I don’t ever need to ride this ride again … haha! …. my little granddaughter was living her best life getting in line again and again! This ride is pretty important in AK since there aren’t a lot of rides for little ones. At three, her three favorite things were the Safari, the Boneyard, and Triceratop Spin and of course, breakfast at Tusker House!

if your a 5 year and have sat on the side while the rest of the family goes on rides Triceratop Sprin is the top of world. Even if there is Dumbo and Flying carpet else were. T 5 year old is now here so don’t kip it just because it is a small person ride. Love the fact that the line is short at Journey into imagination is so short,it is so cute and relaxing on a hot day in WDW.

I love figment and it’s one of the few rides at Epcot that’s easy to do with child, scooters and if your prone to motion sickness.
Louise Herrick says
I love both those rides. I prefer Triceratops Spin to Dumbo, Magic Carpet & Astro Orbiter purely because the queue is usually a walk on. Ok, and because they have cute faces.
Jacqueline says
I love Figment! The only love he gets is that holiday sweater. He deserves so much more than only that.
