A MAJOR Disney fan event is coming up soon. In fact, its name is D23: The ULTIMATE Disney Fan Event! We just got some new info that you’ll want to know if you’re planning to attend in 2024.
Disney is making this year’s D23 Expo the biggest one yet, and we’re hoping that means lots of exciting announcements. We’ll get to hear from Disney executives like Josh D’Amaro (Chairman of Disney Experiences) and CEO Bob Iger, who will talk about recent changes and upcoming projects. We already know that tickets will go on sale on March 26th (that’s SOON, y’all!), and now we know exactly how much those tickets will cost.
For these ticket prices to make sense, you need to know that there are actually a couple of different venues for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
The Anaheim Convention Center will have the show floor with activities and pavilions showcasing Disney-themed exhibits, including a new Walt Disney Archives exhibit called “A Great Big Beautiful Car Show.” The Convention Center will also have places to shop for limited-edition merchandise as well as shows, panels, and presentations.
Some of the BIGGEST presentations, though, will take place at the Honda Center. This stadium will host three marquee showcases (one each night): the Disney Entertainment Showcase on Friday (August 9th), the Disney Experiences Showcase on Saturday (August 10th), and the Disney Legends Ceremony on Sunday (August 11th). That Disney Experiences panel is where we expect to hear lots of updates about new things coming to Disney’s theme parks, so it’ll be a popular event!
Because there are two different venues this year, ticket prices look different than they have in years past. You can get some tickets without access to the Honda Center for cheaper, or buy tickets that include access to both the Convention Center and the Honda Center, which are more expensive.
Here’s a look at what tickets will cost for the event:
- The D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket: a 3-day assigned seat for evening shows at the Honda Center and 3-day access to all experiences at the Anaheim Convention Center—starting at $297/ticket
- The D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 1-Day Ticket: a reserved seat for that date’s evening show at the Honda Center and same-day access to all experiences at the Anaheim Convention Center—starting at $99/ticket
- The D23 Preferred Ultimate Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket (exclusive to D23 Gold Members): a 3-day floor seat for evening shows at the Honda Center, and 3-day access to all experiences at the Anaheim Convention Center—starting at $999/ticket.
- The D23 Fan Pass: access to the Anaheim Convention Center ONLY
- 1-Day Pass
- Gold Members: $79/ticket
- General Members: $89/ticket
- 3-Day Pass
- Gold Members: $209/ticket
- General Members: $259/ticket
- 1-Day Pass
Disney noted that there is a purchase limit of eight tickets per ticket type.
D23 Gold Members get first access to a limited number of 1-day and 3-day tickets, beginning on March 26th, 2024, at 12PM PST.
D23 Gold and General Members who are Visa Cardmembers (and pay for their tickets with their Visa) get pre-sale acces to a limited number of 1-day and 3-day tickets beginning March 27th, 2024, at 12PM PST.
Tickets for all D23 Gold and General Members go on sale starting March 28th, 2024, at 12PM PST.
Note that you MUST be a D23 Member to buy tickets. You can join D23 for free or upgrade to a Gold Membership, which costs $99.99 per year for one membership or $129.99 per year for two memberships.
The celebration for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event kicks off on August 8th, 2024, with D23 Day at Disneyland Resort.
The Expo lasts from August 9th through the 11th, with all the shops, exhibits, panels, presentations, and more.
Tickets for this event usually sell out FAST. You’ll want to have the D23 website open with your cursor at the ready a few minutes before the tickets actually go on sale. Make sure to get your finger stretches in over the next week so that you can be fast when it’s time to buy! If you’re not able to get tickets, don’t worry — we’ll be bringing you all the updates and announcements from the event, so you can still keep up with everything going on.
This year’s event also has a couple of new additions, including D23 Day at Angel Stadium, which takes place on Sunday, August 4th. The first 23,000 fans to enter the stadium that evening will get a one-of-a-kind D23 Mickey Mouse bobblehead souvenir!
Disney is also hosting “The Ultimate Disney Sweepstakes: FANtastic Prizes,” which is “the biggest company-wide sweepstakes in Disney history.” One of the prizes for this sweepstakes is a ticket to the seven-night maiden voyage of Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Treasure!

Can anyone explain why the preferred 3 day is $700 more than the standard 3 day ($297 vs $999)? Like what comes with it to justify that big a difference in price?
