It may only be March, but a Christmas wish is coming a bit early in the year!
Some of the best times of the year to visit Disney is through the holiday season with so much to see and do at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. While we’re still waiting to hear official confirmation of its return, we’ve uncovered a clue that may mean an announcement should be coming soon!
It appears that Disney is already looking ahead to the end-of-the-year festivities for Disney World. During the holiday season, on select nights, Disney World puts on a spectacular after-hours event known as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We’ve grown quite fond of the incredible shows, treats, “snoap” snowing on Main Street U.S.A. and Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade.
So what could be better than attending one of these special ticketed events? Performing in them! Disney has quietly released casting calls for parade performers in anticipation of the returning event. Submissions are being accepted online now to audition for male presenting parade performers. Disney outlines in their casting listing they’re looking for individuals who are “diverse, energetic parade performers” and also goes on to stress that the performers they’re searching for MUST be local to Disney World and Central Florida.
If selected, these performers would be filling a seasonal role which also requires weekly availability beginning June 2024 through January 2025. The posting goes on to outline the ideal candidate for these positions such as “5’1” – 6’2”, MALE presenting performers of all races and ethnicities to bring to life Disney Characters and all dancing roles. Performers should have training and experience in dance and performance. These roles require athletic and cardio endurance, physical story-telling abilities, and strong performance energy.”
If you’re looking to throw in your submission you’ll need to do so soon! Disney is only accepting submissions through March 25th, 2024. We’ll be excited to see Disney close out this casting call because when they do, we’ll know that we’re taking another step closer to hearing an official announcement from Disney about the upcoming holiday party and when tickets may start to go on sale later in the year.
We’ll be keeping a close watch over all the holiday happenings as they’re announced for Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned with us for the latest in Disney news, updates, and more!

We attended Mickey’s VMCP in December. I don’t need to do it again for awhile, but it’s hard to beat that beautiful Christmas Parade with Christmas music and snow pouring down on Main Street. That is the main reason I go about every 5 years.
