How is it *checks watch* already APRIL?!
We’re still a little messed up from the start of Daylight Savings Time, but we have to say time is moving FAST in 2024. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Country Bear Jamboree are set to open (and reopen) sometime this summer and we’ve been watching the construction move along. But before that happens, some exciting things are happening at Disney World in April. Let’s get into it, shall we?
If you’re heading to Disney World soon, be sure to check out our list of the 15 ESSENTIALS you’ll forget to pack. You can click the image below to get our list and make sure you don’t forget a thing!
Here’s a peek at what you can look forward to in April at Disney World!
Star Tours Changes
Back at Destination D23 in September, Disney made a TON of announcements including that Star Tours would be getting new scenes. Now, in April, we’ll get to see these new changes in action!
Disney revealed that Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (and at Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris) will change on April 5th, 2024. The new adventures that will be added to this ride will feature characters and locations from Ahsoka, Andor, and The Mandalorian.
When these scenes and characters are added, there will be over 250 different adventures on the ride. Wow! We’re sure this will draw lots of crowds to the ride especially since you can re-ride several times without repeating the same scene!

1900 Park Fare Reopens
Most Disney World restaurants have reopened since closing in 2020, but a few of them are still closed. The list is about to get even shorter though, because 1900 Park Fare welcomes back visitors starting on April 10th, 2024!
The restaurant is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and it’s known for being an iconic character dining meal at Disney World. While some things will remain the same (we’re looking at you, our beloved Strawberry Soup!), the characters will be totally different than you once knew.
Disney announced that Aladdin in his Prince Ali look, Cinderella, Mirabel, and Tiana in her new look for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will all be there to “celebrate the power of a wish.” Want to book a reservation? They are open now. Check out the prices and full menus here!

Dapper Day
It’s time to get dressed up! Dapper Day is returning to Disney World in April!
Dapper Day is hosting a Spring Outing in EPCOT (during the Flower & Garden Festival) on April 20th and in Magic Kingdom on April 21st. We’ve some seriously amazing outfits in the past and we look forward to seeing them again in April!
That’s not all, though! There will also be a Dapper Day pop-up shop in EPCOT from April 17th to 21st. It will be located at two outdoor kiosks across from the America Gardens Theater in World Showcase. You’ll be able to shop all of your favorite Dapper merchandise!

An EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival Booth Gets NEW Menu Items
Speaking of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival…one booth is changing its menu in April! The EPCOT Farmers Feast booth has a rotational menu, and on April 28th, the Summer Solstice menu will debut.
This new menu includes:
- Seared Pork Tenderloin with corn risotto featuring BEN’S ORIGINAL INTERNATIONAL GRAINS Arborio Rice and roasted red pepper sauce (New)
- Peach Galette with ginger-vanilla whipped cream (New)
You’ll still be able to grab the Grilled Street Corn on the Cob, the Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail, and the Frozen Lemon Tea Cocktail since they are sticking around for the entire festival.

runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend
Pull out your running shoes and start stretching, because the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend is happening from April 18th to 21st!
These runDisney events typically bring big crowds to the Disney World parks as runners head to the parks after the early morning races. Between this event and Dapper Day, prepare for high wait times and LOTS of people if you’re visiting the parks!
Another aspect of the race weekend that could impact your trip is the fact that road access will be modified. Disney posted a notice on its website noting that there will be traffic restrictions and closures near Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort due to these races:
- April 20, 2024 from 3:00 AM through 7:30 AM for the Springtime Surprise Adventure Is Out There 10K
- April 21, 2024 from 3:00 AM through 10:00 AM for the Springtime Surprise Hakuna Matata 10-Miler
If you’re planning to drive in this area at that time, leave yourself extra time to get to your destination.

Happily Ever After Is Getting Pushed Back
As we approach summer and the days get longer, some times for rides and shows are getting moved around. First, Kilimanjaro Safaris expanded its hours, and in April, Happily Ever After fireworks in Magic Kingdom are getting pushed back.
The iconic fireworks show starts at 8:30PM until March 31st when it switches to 8:45PM. However, as of April 21st, 2024, the show is set to start at 9PM.
Remember — the show can be canceled if there is bad weather or high winds. But if not, keep in mind that the show will start later than you might think!
