There’s one little hidden detail in EPCOT that we love, but many people walk straight past.
Yep, we’re talking about our beloved train town! This tiny village is decked out with houses and miniature figures of people, along with real working trains. They even decorate for the various EPCOT festivals! What could be better than a tiny model of a town? Well…one Disney fan in California is giving EPCOT a run for its money!
LA Times recently wrote a piece on Disney fan David Sheegog, who has created a miniature replica of Disneyland in his backyard! The replica is located in Anaheim Hills, and every once in a while, Sheegog hosts a free open house for guests to come check it out.
However, if you can’t make it out to California, Sheegog has a website with plenty of pictures of the tiny theme park. Let’s take a look!
Of course, the replica has a mini version of Sleeping Beauty Castle. On open house days, Sheegog puts out the Disney Princesses to greet the visitors. The castle is complete with stunning foliage, detailed rockwork, and of course, the iconic Partners statue out front.
Other royal residences can be found throughout the model as well, including Prince Eric’s seaside villa.
And we can’t forget the attractions that are represented! There’s a model of the iconic Haunted Mansion — the Disneyland version, of course. When the lights are turned on, it has a bit of an eerie glow.
Sheegog even included some long-lost attractions, like this Disneyland Skyway station! Check out all the hidden characters waiting in line on the platform.
The main railroad is called Thunder Railroad, and there’s a train station to match. The little train looks just like the ride vehicles on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad — how fun!
You could honestly spend DAYS looking through all the details of this tiny Disneyland! This is just one great example of how a love for Disney can bleed into your hobbies — Sheegog developed his love of model trains many years ago. He plans to continue expanding the model in the future, hopefully adding a replica of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge next.
We’ll be on the lookout for more fun Disney fan stories, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest!

Cindy says
For a huge miniature railroad, try the L.A. County Fairgrounds. It’s not Disney-themed, but it is probably twice as long and twice as wide as the one in Germany.

Boy, a lot of love went into that display. It’s so awesome; he must be so proud of it!
