Disney Springs is home to several amazing restaurants, but could one of them be in danger of closing?
Chicken Guy! is a chicken restaurant chain owned by celebrity chef Guy Fieri and restauranteur Robert Earl. Its flagship restaurant resides in Disney Springs and, until now, there was no cause for concern. However, news of financial issues at one Florida Chicken Guy! location has us worried.
According to News 6 WKMG, the Chicken Guy! location in Winter Park, Florida is facing eviction after racking up nearly $40,000 in overdue rent.
An official complaint for tenant eviction and damages was filed by the property owner on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, and is the second notice filed against the restaurant this month.
Elsewhere, Chicken Guy! has shown some concerning trends. The Disney Springs location had its number of sauces reduced from 22 to 10 in a cost-cutting measure last December. Other signs of trouble popped up in Minnesota at the Mall of America where Earl was sued for failing to pay rent for a restaurant that never opened.
So what does this all mean for the future of the restaurant chain? It’s hard to say. While you can’t trust that Chicken Guy! will be around forever, multiple location expansions are still planned so it doesn’t appear the chain will disappear for good — at least not yet.

Since they took away all the sauces we liked, haven’t been back since December. Chicken is tasty, but not THAT good, we went for the sauce. When that went away, so did we.

When I visited Chicken Guy in Disney Springs Fall 2022 for the first time with my husband, we both loved it. We ate there 3 times on our 4 day trip and really enjoyed the selection of sauces and the quality of the food. Chicken Guy also opened up a new location in one of our local malls in Miami and we were very excited since we hadn’t had it since that trip in 2022 but when we tried the food there it lacked flavor and didn’t taste as good as before and we also noticed the lack of sauces. We thought maybe it was because we were eating it outside of Disney World that’s why we felt a difference but we went back to the Disney Springs location in December 2023 and felt the same there as well. The lack of sauce options made the experience lackluster and the chicken tenders tasted plastic and fake. It wasn’t the same crispy, fresh juicy chicken we remembered and loved so much. I really hope the brand goes back to using the original recipe and brings back if not all then at least some more of the sauce options.

We were at Chicken Guy last night for dinner at the Disney Springs location, and it was very busy. We love eating there and I hope that restaurant stays open!

I used to work for the one at spring’s, started 6 months after reopen from covid and they did a lot of shady stuff to where managers to FOH quit. Robert Earl isn’t the nicest person or his president. We would tell guests the old ice machine takes time to produce ice even though we had a back up
