Whether you’re flying to Disney World or anywhere else, we’re here with tips to make the process smoother, including ways to save money. With that said, let’s look at the best times of the year to book airfare!
Sometimes the best time to book a flight is laid out precisely on a calendar, and other times you have to ballpark the dates. Regardless, let’s take a look at the dates and times of the year you’ll get the best airfare deals!
Holiday Booking
Per Hopper, the best days to book flights for the most popular 2024 holidays are as follows:
- Memorial Day (May 27th): Book by April 15th
- Juneteenth (June 19th): Book by May 1st
- July 4th: Book by June 1st
- Labor Day (September 2nd): Book by August 9th
- Indigenous Peoples’ Day (October 14th): Book by August 15th

Black Friday
Not only is the day after Thanksgiving famous for its countrywide retail discounts, but it’s usually a day most airlines also have deals. Be sure to check back here and with your favorite airline on Black Friday when booking your 2025 flights!
Boxing Day
For our friends outside the United States, Boxing Day is another prime day to find good airfare deals. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic typically have deals on Boxing Day and are go-to airlines if you’re flying out of the United Kingdom.
Regular Deals
We recommend joining an email list for your favorite airlines if you’re looking to find deals on the regular. Airlines like Southwest Airlines and Allegiant Air tend to have nice deals every few weeks, so those are two you may want to watch as the year progresses.
Airline Passes
If you don’t want to have to worry about timing, you should definitely look into year-long passes that offer all-you-can-fly programs or something similar. Some of our favorites include Southwest’s Companion Pass and Frontier Airlines’ GoWild! Pass.
60 Day Rule
Finally, if you don’t want to deal with the hassle of discount hunting and just want tips on how to save a quick buck, our general rule of thumb is that the best airfare value is typically 60 days out from your trip. We have consistently found the most fair prices when we book flights in that time frame.
