Summer is only a few months away, and Disney World has A LOT coming down the pipeline.

Some of these changes we’ve known about for a while, like the new cabins coming to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and the fact that Test Track will close at some point to be refurbished (but we don’t know when), not to mention that Dinoland U.S.A. will also be transforming sometime in the near future. But recently, Disney announced even MORE exciting news that we 100% know WILL be happening this summer!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Will OPEN!

Disney announced a few weeks ago that the opening timeline for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World had moved up to Summer 2024! We’ve even started seeing more and more signs (literally) that prove it’s getting ready to open in a few months.

Most recently, we’ve started seeing signs at the end of the big drop informing guests that the ride isn’t open to the public yet, but Imagineers are testing it. So if you see people riding it, don’t worry, you didn’t miss opening day. It’s just Imagineers checking things out. However, this is a big step toward opening, and we’re so excited to be able to ride this for ourselves soon!

Country Bear Jamboree Will Open with Their NEW Show!

We’re also thrilled because the Country Bear Jamboree, one of the most beloved animatronic shows in Magic Kingdom, will be opening sometime this summer with the bears’ brand new show!

We don’t have a specific opening date for this attraction just yet, but we do know it’s coming this summer. The new show is styled after traditional variety shows you can find in Nashville, Tennessee. We also know that some classic Disney songs will be performed in country, rockabilly, and bluegrass styles! It’s going to be a hoot!

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza Will FINALLY Open!

One of the biggest updates we’ve heard over the last few days is that CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza in EPCOT FINALLY have an opening date!

Both of these new additions are set to open on June 10th, 2024! Both of these areas are designed to extend your EPCOT festival experience in different ways, and we can’t wait to see what that’s actually going to look like.

A NEW ‘Encanto’ Show is Coming to EPCOT!

On the same day that CommuniCore Hall and Plaza open (June 1oth), you’ll also be able to watch a new Encanto show that’s coming to World Celebration!

The show, called ¡Celebración Encanto!, will take place on the CommuniCore Plaza stage and will be a sing-along that includes some popular songs from the movie. It’ll run several times a day and be a great way to see some of your favorite characters shine on stage.

A DRONE SHOW is Coming to Disney Springs!

Yes, we said drone show and Disney Springs in the same sentence! Over on the West Side, you’ll be able to catch a new drone show called “Disney Dreams That Soar” over Lake Buena Vista starting on May 24th. 

The show is inspired by different Disney stories that feature flying in one way or another and will be paired with a beautiful musical score that features some iconic Disney quotes. It’ll only be around for a limited time though, so be sure to stop by to see it before September 2nd!

Returning Meet and Greets!

Meeting characters is one of our favorite things to do in the parks, and if you’re a Pixar fan, you’ll be excited to know that you’ll be able to meet Joy at Pixar Plaza in Hollywood Studios starting June 10th! Currently, you could meet Joy in EPCOT, but for now, she’ll be moving over to DHS just in time for the release of Inside Out 2.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of The Lion King from June 10th through September 6th. We’ll finally be able to meet Timon and Rafiki again! You’ll only be able to meet them at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, so be sure to take the Wildlife Express during your trip to go say hello.

Summer is going to be a busy time for Disney World, so if you’re planning to visit, be sure to grab those tickets sooner rather than later — especially when we learn the opening dates for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Country Bear Jamboree.
