Although it might take a bit of a learning curve, the My Disney Experience app can be the most helpful tool in your Disney World arsenal.
Not only does the app have lots of handy information that can help you navigate Disney World with ease, but it can also help you find where you parked your car, unlock your hotel room, give you almost immediate access to your PhotoPass photos after they’re taken, and so much more. We recently told you about how the app can help you find water bottle refill stations, and well, we just discovered another secret feature that will tell you where to go to charge your phone!
It’s no secret that your phone is going to be using up a lot of juice while you’re in the parks because you are using the app so much. Genie+ on the app is probably going to be your lifeline to make Lightning Lane selections, grab virtual queue boarding passes, and find out when and where everything is happening.
Now, we always recommend bringing a mobile charger, but if you don’t want to lug one around with you, there are places IN the parks where you can charge your phone.
If you need to find one of these phone charging stations, you can find them on the app! Just use the search feature and search for “Mobile charging stations.” Then you’ll want to choose “Find on Map.” We found TWO in Magic Kingdom.
One phone charging station is at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus, while the other is located near “it’s a small world.” SCORE!
It currently looks like the free mobile charging stations are only available in Magic Kingdom, but they could come to the other parks as well. So if you don’t want to carry a mobile charger around (or it isn’t working), make sure you pack your charger so you can juice up your phone at one of these mobile stations. This is especially nice if you just need a little break, too, while your phone is charging.
But under the same search, you’ll also find “Portable Phone Charging System Kiosks.” You can find these on the map for all the parks and more, and they’ll take you to FuelRod kiosks where you can pay $30 to get a fully charged portable phone charger (FuelRod) and cable.
Disney knows that you’ll be on your phone a lot in the parks, so they’ve tried to alleviate some of the issues with battery power. These are convenient ways to keep your phone charged and your day moving!
