It’s that time of year again!
Yep, it’s the time of year when all the flowers are in bloom, the topiaries are out in EPCOT for the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, and all the Easter treats are arriving in restaurants all over Disney World. Now, we’ve already tried many of these spring and Easter snacks, but we just found two treats that will take home the “Most Adorable” award of the year.
Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs already has a reputation for creating some really artistic and unique desserts, including these wonderful little (or petit) cakes that are decorated to match a seasonal theme. Well, there’s a new Easter Bunny Petit Cake and we’re just going to let you admire it for a moment before we tell you all about it. LOOK at this adorable cake!
It’s a petit cake made with layers of Vanilla Chiffon, Berry Compote, and Cream Cheese Mousse with Fondant decor. Of course, looks aren’t everything, so we had to taste it. We found that the cake was soft and moist with that berry flavor coming in between the layers. The cream cheese mousse is also creamy and light.
We do have ONE complaint, though. The mousse flavor was TOO mild for us and we wish it had a bit more flavor. We think there could be more of it, too, because the layer of it is quite thin.
So what is this treat’s SCARY secret, you might ask?! It’s the price tag. This small cake costs a whopping $22. That’s not unusual for the petit cakes at Amorette’s (and they’re definitely little works of art), but it’s certainly a hefty bill for a little cake that’s made for one or maybe two people. Although it’s a super cute treat, we think there are better ways to spend $22 in Disney World — at some restaurants, you can get two full quick service meals for that price!

So let’s check out another spring treat that’s not quite so pricey. We also tried the Easter Basket Panna Cotta. Yes, it’s got a bunny butt on it, and we will never not love bunny butt treats. It’s made with Strawberry, Coconut, and Passion Fruit Panna Cotta Topped with fondant bunny and jelly beans.
As you might expect, the flavors in this make it taste very fruity and tropical. We really got a lot of the passion fruit flavor, but we think mango might’ve been a better pairing with it. But it’s both tart and sweet and the panna cotta itself is very smooth. We also didn’t get much of the coconut flavor.
We do have a tip with this one, though: eat the toppings first because the texture of the frosting with the panna cotta feels off. Those toppings are all lumpy, and the panna cotta is smooth. It just didn’t work for us when we ate everything together. Ultimately, though, we would definitely get this again. This one is $7.25.
