Did you know that the Mona Lisa is HIDING in Disney World? Of course, Miss Lisa is on vacation, so you’ll find her rocking some sweet sunglasses in front of the HOLLYWOOD sign in her protrait. Celebrities — they’re just like us!
This is just one of the MANY fun details you can find at a little restaurant tucked away in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s called Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, “Where Italy meets California in the heart of the Backlot!” so you KNOW the lore goes deep for this unassuming Disney World restaurant. Intrigued yet? Maybe these six NEW menu items will tempt you to book a reservation. That’s right. Disney just announced a BUNCH of new menu items are coming soon, so let’s take a look at what we can expect!
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has such an eclectic, fun atmosphere. As we said, it’s sort of hidden away in Disney’s Hollywood Studios over in the Grand Avenue section of the park. The outside may not look as exciting as the Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant, for example, but if you’re looking for a simple Italian meal with tons of Disney theming, this may be a great option!
In the past, we’ve dined on some BIG meatballs, simple soups, and chicken parm. We’ve previously called this a Disney-fied Olive Garden, but now, we’re curious if some new menu items could change our perspective.
Get ready, people! Starting April 1st, you can find six NEW menu items, starting with this tempting Rigatoni Bolognese! It’s made with ground beef, Italian sausage, and parmesan.
OK, we’ll admit it. We’re SUPER curious to learn more about this new Braised Pork Osso Buco with creamy polenta, roasted cipollini onions, sweet peppers, and lemon gremolata. Looks pretty fancy, huh?
If you know Disney Food Blog, you know how we feel about cheese. ESPECIALLY fried cheese. So yes, it’s safe to say we are VERY excited about the new Fried Mozzarella Sticks with marinara sauce and lemon aïoli.
For dessert, you may want to check out the new Goat Cheese Mousse Tart, topped with honeycomb and an edible flower served with blackberries and a cassis compote. Disney is all in on mousse treats right now, and we’re not mad about it.
Time for a little seafood! Check out the new Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp — it’s pasta, cheese sauce, and fresh parsley. What more could you want?
Finally, we had to save the best for last. Disney, you know the way to our hearts. Behold the NEW Mushroom, Artichoke, Cheese Dip with goat cheese, tomatoes, and toasted crostini. YUM, YUM, and YUM. Is it weird to order JUST this dip as our meal? Because we’re feeling tempted.
So, who’s ready to book a reservation and go eat? We’ve never craved Italian food more than we are right now, so that’s a good sign. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

You can fet the exact same food including meatball from Buca di Beppo on 192 for half the price and half the wait. Disney food is still good, but any effort to make it great has sadly vanished.
