D23’s convention is just a few months away, and we are getting excited for what is to come!

Recently we got a look into some of what is to come, and Disney announced that there would be some changes to the convention format. We also got to take a look at some exhibits that will be on display for attendees to see. We love to hear all the new announcements that Disney makes at its D23 panels, but we are specifically looking forward to what could be announced on August 10th!

From August 9th to the 11th D23 is holding its Ultimate Disney Fan Event in California. But why is August 10th such an important date? That’s because the Disney Experiences Showcase will take place at the Honda Center. This is where Disney announces new additions to parks and resorts around the world.

At the D23 Expo in 2022, during the Disney Experiences Showcase, it was announced that Happily Ever After would return to Magic Kingdom. At Destination D23 in 2023, Disney announced that Test Track would be re-imagined, and that the Tree of Life would get a new show!

Basically, this showcase is huge for the fans of Disney parks, resorts, and experiences as Disney announces what is to come! This year, there are six announcements that we are expecting to be made during this showcase.

What Could Lie Beyond Big Thunder

At D23 Expo in 2022, Disney teased us with Blue Sky ideas for Magic Kingdom’s expansion. By now, you have probably heard the term “what lies beyond Big Thunder Mountain.” 

Some ideas for this area could include lands themed to Disney Villains as well as Coco, but there are no concrete details on this project.

We are hoping that this year, Disney will be able to share what will actually lie beyond Big Thunder Mountain. It would be nice to get more concept art and potential ride and dining announcements.

DinoLand USA

We apologize in advance to all DinoLand U.S.A. fans, but its days are numbered. We recently have seen Disney file permits for trailer sites in Animal Kingdom. At Destination D23 in 2023, Josh D’amaro shared some changes that Animal Kingdom will be seeing in the future.

One of these changes was a re-theme of DinoLand U.S.A. Disney said that the re-theme would revolve around The Tropical Americas. Potential experiences include ones inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones.

While we have not gotten much information about this expansion, Disney did say that they were planning on going all in. Since Disney has started to file construction permits at Animal Kingdom, and we can expect more details to be announced at the Disney Experiences Showcase.

Opening Date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland

An announcement for a Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening date seems to be getting closer and closer every day! Recently, we have seen testing going on at Magic Kingdom, which means that Tiana’a Bayou Adventure is gearing up to open!

Disney announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure would open at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom this summer and later this year at Disneyland.

No concrete dates have been announced, and if the Disneyland date is not announced before August, we expect to find out the opening date on August 10th.

DisneylandForward Details

Disney World is not the only parks with all the excitement! Over on the West Coast, Disneyland is currently planning a massive expansion that is moving along and is in the process of being approved.

With this expansion, Disneyland could see additions of more shopping, dining, a hotel, and new themed lands. Ideas for Tangled, Peter Pan, Zootopia, and Frozen inspired-lands have also been teased. 

Progress with approving the project has been moving along, and we hope that means that Disney will be able to give us more details of what is to come this year at the D23 convention.

Details about the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure

We are so excited that the Disney Treasure will be setting sail later this year, but two other ships are also in the works!

Disney acquired the Disney Adventure from Genting Hong Kong and fewdetails have been announced on what might be found on board. We do know that the Disney Adventure’s home port will be in Singapore.

We knew that there would be a third ship joining the Wish Class of ships, and Disney recently shared new details about this ship.

Starting with the name, we just found out that this ship will be named the Disney Destiny and will have a heroes and villains theme. We hope that Disney will be able to tell us a little more about what we will find on board when the Destiny sets sail in 2025.
