A LOT is going on in Disney World these days.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open soon in Magic Kingdom. Country Bear Jamboree will soon reopen with a brand new show in Magic Kingdom, too! In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, another ride is getting a big change: Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is getting some brand new scenes. Well, those new scenes debuted TODAY and we’re taking a look at how this is affecting crowds and wait times in the park.
We first learned about these new scenes in 2023, and then Disney later revealed the new scenes would include some new characters including Cassian Andor, Ahsoka, and Din Djarin and Grogu. Locations from Andor, Ahsoka, and The Mandalorian have also been added to the ride. Exciting! These new additions give the ride a total of 250 different combinations of adventures that you can experience!
Well, those changes are available on the ride AS OF NOW, and we had a chance to see some of these new scenes. We’re also checking to see how this is affecting crowds at Hollywood Studios, as well as wait times. So here’s what Hollywood Studios looked like when we arrived this morning. Granted, we’re still dealing with Spring Break crowds, too. This is for Early Theme Park Entry, by the way.
If you were wondering if Early Theme Park Entry is worth it, here’s a photo that might convince you to take advantage of this perk for Disney World hotel guests.
So we headed straight over to Star Tours. Our wait was very short, but even right after park opening, the wait time was only 5 minutes, which is normal for this ride.
That wait quickly jumped up to 15 minutes, though, and as the morning progressed, though, we saw wait times start to get really high, especially for this ride. We saw wait times of up to 40-50 minutes.
We have a theory of what happened here, though. We think the Star Wars fans rope dropped Star Tours (which makes sense) and then headed straight over to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where wait times are HIGH. By mid-morning, Rise of the Resistance had a wait of 90 minutes, while Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run had a wait of a whopping 180 minutes. WOW. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is HOPPING today.
Oddly enough, the rest of Hollywood Studios seems pretty quiet.
We’re excited about these new changes with Star Tours, and we hope everyone has a chance to check out this new version of the ride!
