Southwest Airlines can be a great choice for flying to Disney World. They offer lots of routes into Orlando International Airport, free checked bags, and a great cancellation/change policy.
Southwest Airlines offers various sales throughout the year, and they can be a great way to snag some cheaper flights.
Right now, Southwest is offering the “Wanna Get Away Sale”! The sale runs from April 2nd through April 11th, 2024.
You can book flights for as low as $39. While there are restrictions, exclusions, and block-out dates, it never hurts to take a look and see if you can grab some flights for cheaper. This sale is eligible for May travel; it just requires a 21-day advance purchase. Head on over to Southwest before Thursday to see if there are any deals for your upcoming vacation.
You get two free checked bags included with your fare, and you also won’t have to worry about change or cancellation fees. While the fares are nonrefundable, they can be applied toward future travel on Southwest Airlines (as long as you cancel at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure).
We are always on the lookout for ways to save on vacations, so make sure to stay tuned to DFB for even more travel deals!

Southwest brags about these $39 fares all the time but they don’t exist! Alb-tpa or mco in May start at $94 on three days only. Admittedly the fares offered are lower than usual, they still average $150+/- and, frankly, school is still in session and people are working so vacationing in May is seldom done. Sorry but you fell for Southwest’s ‘sale’ again. Unless there is a family reason to head to Florida in May – and you’re encouraging wdw travel – the rates are good but definitely not $39! That being said, Southwest is still the best airline around!
