Things have been super busy in Disney World, but it IS Spring Break travel season.
However, the crowds can’t stay FOREVER, and we think we could be seeing the end of one of Disney World’s busiest times of the year. Yes, ride wait times have still been SUPER high recently, but today, we noticed that the price of Genie+ has actually gone down.Â
So what does the Genie+ price have to do with crowds? Well, Genie+ has surge pricing, meaning that when Disney expects the parks to be busier, therefore creating more demand for Genie+, the price goes up. Likewise, when Disney expects smaller crowds and less demand for the service, the price goes down.
On April 6th, we noticed that the price of Genie+ was $35 for Magic Kingdom and Multiple Parks, $28 for EPCOT, $32 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and $25 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is the lowest price we’ve seen for Genie+ in two weeks! During that time, the price for Magic Kingdom and Multiple Parks Genie+ was at $39 per person, a record-high price for the service.
We’ll have to see what the crowds look like this weekend. This is probably just the quiet before the storm, though. We think Disney World is going to be pretty busy this summer, especially after Disney announces previews and opening dates for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the reopening date for the new Country Bear Jamboree, which are both expected to debut this summer.

These new lower prices are still way above their $15 introductory prices. They are still significantly higher than the old Fast Pass. Alas, I guess Disney has to keep this Genie + revenue stream going to help cover their Woke creative box-office disappointments. I don’t expect Disney to change anytime soon. Iger has just renewed his sycophants on the Board, so there is no pressure for him to change things now. When Iger said Disney is about entertaining
not messaging he was not telling the truth. I was hoping that Disney’s recent SEC filing where they admitted their Woke messaging was hurting sales and revenue was the first step in making a change back to family entertainment. Sadly, no such luck. It’s depressing to think about.1

Can Disney HONESTLY explain to all of us how they were PROFITABLE IN THE PARKS THRU 2019 with the Magical Express and WITHOUT the Genie Plus. Did Disney use the profits from the parks to subsidize other operations like the failing Disney Plus or ESPN. Please Disney, bring back THE OLD DISNEY WHEN WE HAD FREE FAST PASS, AND THE WONDERFUL MAGICAL EXPRESS.
