There are TONS of restaurants around Disney World property.
However, some of them are loved, and some of them…not so much. And trust us, we know what you’re talking about! We’ve eaten at all the restaurants and do our best to try all the new snacks that land in the parks so you know what to expect. But it seems that some of you REALLY want these restaurants’ menus to have a complete overhaul.
Be Our Guest Restaurant
When we asked our readers on Facebook which restaurants they’d like to see overhaul their menus, the number one answer was easily Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom.
Be Our Guest is currently a table service restaurant located inside Beast’s Castle. It has a prix-fixe menu that costs over $60 per adult for lunch and dinner. While the decor and atmosphere is incredible, many of our readers don’t feel the menu matches the brilliance of the aesthetic.
Many commenters shared that they would LOVE to see the old menu from this restaurant return, when it was open for table service breakfast and had a quick service option for lunch. This allowed more people to experience the amazing theming inside this restaurant — without committing to a huge sit-down meal.
But that wasn’t the only restaurant our readers mentioned. California Grill, located inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort, was also called out for its prix-fixe menu. Previously, the restaurant offered an a la carte menu with more options, and while pricing was similar in comparison to the prix-fixe meal now (over $60 per adult), our readers REALLY miss the quality and variety of the previous menu.
Our readers also mentioned their grievances with Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now, we’ve never thought this meal was fantastic, it’s (again) more the atmosphere that you’re paying for. But we do agree that there were some better options on the menu in years past that we do miss. However, we do recommend eating here just ONCE during a Disney trip to really experience the atmosphere!
We also did see Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom mentioned a few times, too, but we do have to say that if you haven’t tried their new menu items introduced in recent years, PLEASE go give it another try! We used to despise this restaurant, but have started to change our tune because of those newer menu items.
At the end of the day, it’s completely up to you and your travel party where you’d like to eat and what’s worth your money. If you love these restaurants, then we hope you have the time of your life dining at them! But if it’s your first time in Disney World and you want to be sure you have a great meal, maybe stay away from these.

We went to the California Grill in early March. Though you CAN get an a la carte menu if seated at the bar, those seats were full.
One of the unmentioned down-sides of the prix fix menu is freshness. I ordered the Spicy Kazan Roll. Now I’ve eaten at the CG many, many times, and I’m quite sure this particular Spicy Kazan Roll was made several hours earlier in preparation for the evening service. It was NOT fresh and resembled grocery store sushi.
My CG experiences go all the way back to when Yoshi Cabral was the sushi chef. I will NOT return until this prix fix mess is gone.

We loved Be Our Guest with the quick service lunch! The French onion soup and French Dip were outstanding!
My husband and I both got food poisoning at Sci-Fi, and spent 3 days running between the bed and bathroom.

I’m not a fan of any prix-fixe menu. A three-course meal is a lot of food, and most times the menu options don’t appeal, particularly the appetizers. I’d rather go to a restaurant with an a la carte menu any day.
