No matter what time of year it is, you can probably find some kind of construction or refurbishment project going on at Disney World. But is it just us, or does it seem like there are way more than usual right now?
We’re finally nearing the end of the EPCOT transformation project, but there are still restaurants on the way at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and a new DVC villa coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. A lot of Disney World hotel rooms are also getting upgrades, including the rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter.
The Disney World website now has a statement on its Port Orleans — French Quarter page warning guests of upcoming construction. From May 2024 through November 2024, some rooms at the resort will be under refurbishment. This means that those rooms will not be available to guests. It also means that guests may hear some construction noise during the day.
We don’t know if this means the rooms will get a new look or new theming, as Disney hasn’t made an announcement yet about these refurbishments, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more information. Here’s what the rooms at Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter currently look like:
This is why we always tell you to keep an eye on the Disney World website. You may not wish to stay at a hotel where construction is going on (especially if you value those midday naps, like we do).
