This morning we were evacuated off a Disney ride…BEFORE ENTERING THE PARK!
A quick transportation synopsis for those unfamiliar with how parking works at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom: the park’s lots are located near the Transportation and Ticket Center (the TTC) and unless one wants to walk the whole way, they’ll need to take some form of Disney transportation to the theme park’s front gate after parking their car. Options include the Monorail, ferry boats, and in our unfortunate case today – parking lot trams.
It started simply enough, as we arrived, parked, and took our seats on the tram. We made it until we were right in front of security, and then the tram just totally stopped! However, after a few moments, something disconcerting emerged: We weren’t moving. For that matter, neither was the tram in front our ours.
The tram in front of us had already unloaded its passengers at security and picked up new ones, but it had some technical difficulties and couldn’t depart to go back to the parking lot. Since it couldn’t move, we couldn’t get into its spot to unload and they had to evacuate us in the driving lane. Cast Members lined up to escort us safely across.
Starting off the day by getting evacuated from the tram! 👀 Happy Friday, everyone! 👋 pic.twitter.com/yMYI8OXqXu

While this transportation snafu was simply a minor hiccup, we’re highlighting it just to show how many moving pieces – no pun intended – have to work together to craft a seamless Disney day, and how even the slightest issue can lead to something even an experienced park visitor has never dealt with before. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more on the ground reporting from Disney World.

The only ride I’ve been evacuated from was the People Mover. My mom and I were under the space mountain portion. They eventually turned on the lights. Maybe space mountain broke down as well?

I’m not sure what’s up but since Covid it seems like rides are breaking down more often. Not sure if it’s a staffing issue but it definitely causes issues.
