Staying at a Disney-owned hotel for your upcoming vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth can get quite expensive, which is why some visitors choose to stay at hotels that are still on Disney property but are owned by other hotel companies.
Some of these hotels are called Good Neighbor Hotels, meaning the people staying there get some of the same perks as those staying at Disney-owned hotels (like Early Entry at the theme parks). These can be a great lower-cost option for staying at Disney World. Some of these Good Neighbor Hotels are located near Disney Springs, offering quick access to tons of entertainment and dining options. However, if you’re looking to stay at the B Resort & Spa soon, you need to know that it’s changing hands.
We spotted online that the name of this hotel has now changed. It’s now going to be called the Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa, and it is now owned by Marriott.
The updated hotel will officially open in June 2024, and right now, the hotel has job listings listed on Indeed. These listings all share the current name of the hotel and state that it will soon be called the Renaissance.
As it currently stands, the B Resort & Spa had about a 3.6/5 star rating on Google out of 4,000+ reviews, whereas Marriott Renaissance hotels average around 4-4.5/5 stars.
It was announced back in late 2023 that this hotel change would be taking place, but now it’s officially in motion. This change adds yet another Marriott hotel to Disney World. Current Marriott hotels on property include the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts as well as the Swan Reserve. We’re assuming this will mean that Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to earn points at the new Renaissance hotel and thus save on their stay, but we’ll let you know when it’s confirmed.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the reopening and reimagining of this hotel, so stay tuned to DFB!

OMG, I love Marriott branded hotels! I’m currently a Bonvoy member and a public sector employee, so I’m looking forward to new discounts that may become available. The new renovated room rendering look good also. From my old memories, this used to be the Hotel Royal Plaza, then the B Resort & Spa, and soon to be a Renaissance by Marriott. I can’t remember what it was before it was Hotel Royal Plaza.
