Sometimes, it’s like we forget that Disney World has a LOT of parks!
I mean, with four parks, it can be hard to keep track of them all, let alone try to prioritize them when you have limited time on vacation. For example, EPCOT has all the best food, Hollywood Studios has all the best rides, Animal Kingdom has the vibes, and then… Magic Kingdom just slips to the bottom of our list sometimes, especially after we’ve been so frequently! To that point, we wanted to get your thoughts on whether or not you ever skip Magic Kingdom when you go to Disney World!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “When you go to Disney World, do you ever SKIP Magic Kingdom?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!
Now, let’s dive into the responses!
To Skip
Let’s just rip the Band-Aid off and come right out and say it. Yes, some people skip Magic Kingdom when going to Disney World. (Roughly one-third of you responded this way)
Let’s have a look at your responses:
- “Absolutely, we spend way more time at Epcot, HS, and AK”
- “Every time 😂 unless I want to eat at Liberty Tree #local”
- “Yes, I do. Not that I don’t love it, I just prefer Disneyland if I’m going to do a castle park. I prefer Epcot and Animal Kingdom when I visit Florida.”
As you can see, the reasons for skipping Magic Kingdom are as nuanced as can be imagined.
Here are a couple of those reasons:
- Crowds and wait times
- Going on a short trip with limited park days
- Don’t have young children
- Prefer the other parks (EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom)
Not To Skip
And on the other side of the coin, there are many of you, the majority in this poll, that would consider it sacrilegious to even consider skipping Magic Kingdom. (Roughly two-thirds of you responded this way)
Let’s have a look at your responses:
- “Never!!!! Magic Kingdom is what Disney is all about!!!!”
- “No, my husband loves Magic Kingdom and I love Epcot so we always visit both….even if it’s a one-day visit.”
- “Blasphemy!!!!!!! Nope, never ever ever. Absolutely my favorite park since I first went as a kid in 1986 🥰”
Again, there are many reasons for not skipping Magic Kingdom, and here are a couple of them:
- It is the most iconic Disney World park
- It has the best rides and attractions
- It’s a sentimental favorite
- It’s a must-do for the first or last day of the trip
Those were just some of your thoughts on whether or not you ever skip Magic Kingdom when you go to Disney World, and we’d love to find out more from you! Until then, keep it right here for all the latest Disney news!

As a rule my wife and I never skip Magic Kingdom, on the same note we never skip Epcot. When we are there an extra day we will flip a coin whether we visit Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom. Typically we go to Epcot first day since we usually stay at the Yacht club or one of those resorts. I have been going to Magic Kingdom since 1971 when it has opened and I still enjoy it. No we don’t have children under 30, but I like some of the enhancements and not others, My wife and I go 2 to 5 times a year for 3 to 5 days.
I quit going to Disney World in 2006 when my first wife was taken from this world, I had many many memories with her. I remarried 2014 and started coming back in 2016 to create new memories. My wife was not an avid fan as I, but she has be persuaded. She does enjoy Epcot more then Magic Kingdom.

Unless my grandchildren are with me, I skip MK every time!!! I cannot abide people not making their children behave and the AMOUNT of littles in the park screaming because they didn’t get their way just grates my bones. Of course, there are more parents and grandparents behaving that way as well in MK than in other parks!
