Is this real life, or is it a fantasy?
We’re happy to tell you, this is REAL. Soon, you’ll be able to experience a concert film in ways that you never have before. Recently, we’ve been seeing an uptick in popular music artists filming their concerts and releasing them in theaters, or on streaming services for everyone to enjoy. We’ve seen this with Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour, Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour, and a myriad of other popular concerts that have taken place. Soon, there will be a NEW concert for people to experience on Disney+, and in a NEW way.
There are some concerts that are lost to time from iconic musicians throughout history. However, some of these musicians chose to have their concerts filmed — before it became a popular thing to do. So, for those of us who couldn’t go to those concerts or weren’t alive when they were happening — we aren’t missing out. An iconic band chose to do this back in 1981, and the film has been restored and remastered in a very special way.
We hope you’re ready to rock because Queen Rock Montreal will be coming to Disney+ on May 15th — with enhanced IMAX sound to create an at-home concert experience like never before.
That’s right, you’ll be able to experience this right from your own home. This concert film will feature many of the band’s classic songs that you know and love — like Somebody to Love, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions, and MORE. Since the concert was remastered with IMAX sound, you’ll feel like you have been brought back to 1981 and are experiencing this iconic band in real-time.
This isn’t the only film that is being remastered with IMAX sound. Some of your favorite Marvel movies are also getting this treatment — so you can feel like you are experiencing those movies in theaters once again (don’t forget those post-credit scenes!). Some Marvel movies that are included in this special IMAX release are Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, Black Widow, Guardians of the Galaxy (Vol. 2), and more.
These releases are SO exciting, and we can’t wait to experience Queen in all of their glory again. We’ll be keeping an eye on Disney+ for any new announcements, so keep checking in with us at DFB for the latest.
