Traveling between Orlando’s airport and its biggest tourist sites is about to get a whole lot easier.
Anyone who’s traveled to Orlando knows that moving between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and tourist destinations like Walt Disney World, the Universal Orlando Resort, and International Drive can be cumbersome without renting a car. However, a new bus route is about to link all of them in an unprecedented way.
Beginning on April 21st a new route of Orlando’s Lynx bus system – Route Link 311 – will launch. Starting at Orlando International Airport (MCO), the line will make six stops: Sand Lake Rd. Sundial Station, the Florida Mall Superstop, Universal Boulevard, Destination Parkway Superstop, the Orange County Convention Center on International Drive, and finally the Disney Springs Transfer Center. Transfers to other lines are available at most of these stops. The new route will run each day from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every 30 minutes.
While this new line will obviously be beneficial for tourists traveling from MCO – and those who wish to move between Disney World and Universal property without renting a car or using taxis/rideshare services – it will also be incredibly beneficial to Orlando locals according to officials.
Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings stressed that the new route is just the beginning of expansion for the system, saying “We’re primarily investing in the Lynx system. That’s because that is the mode of transportation that most of our workers use to get around our community.”
This new Lynx bus route between MCO, Universal, and Disney Springs is going to redefine how visitors and locals alike will be able to move through Orlando’s biggest tourist attractions. Stay tuned to DFB for more Orlando-area transit updates.

Is it going to be wheelchair accessible?

How long will the route typically take?
Travis says
If one end stop is Disney and the other end stop is the airport one could guess those busses will be packed. People wanting on the busses at the other stops will have no room to board the bus. Different bus routes along the bus stops are needed to allow the busses to be boardable.

Headline read cheaper but I did not see any prices listed.
Going from MCO to Disney springs with luggage and family to transfer to another bus, or whatever, is not really a good option, I would rather pay a bit extra to go from MCO directly to hotel.
Though would like to see more details about going from Disney to Universal and return.

I have a feeling everybody will use this at first and then they will limit luggage you can take on the bus
Barbara Grammer says
How will 10 pieces of luggage be moved with families on this bus?
